Email Campaigns: Links & Template

Explanation on each tool when using the FundPortals email campaigns tool

Updated this week

Templates

When creating an email campaign, you can select one of your saved templates from the first dropdown menu under Template.

Templates are useful if you plan on reusing the same layout and content. This feature saves you time and ensures consistency across your campaigns. If you need to create a new template first, you'll also see an option in the dropdown that will take you to the template settings.

You can also start from scratch by selecting the blank template option.

Links

The Links dropdown menu on the right helps you direct recipients to a specific page within your FundPortal. The dropdown menu lists each page of the FundPortal, such as "Overview," "Data Room," and "News & Comments." When a user clicks the link, they'll be taken directly to the page you selected.

Keep in mind that if a page is turned off in the portal or a user's permission level doesn't match the link's destination, they will see an error page instead.

Adding Links to Your Content

To add a link, you need to embed a special code into your email content using the hyperlink tool.

  1. Select the text you want to hyperlink.

  2. Click the hyperlink button in the toolbar.

  3. In the URL field, copy and paste one of the following special codes: {{link}} or {{message_link}}.

This special code allows the system to identify who is accessing the link. If a user hasn't set up their password yet, the link will first direct them to the password setup page and then to the FundPortal page you selected.

For a cleaner look, it's best to embed the code using the hyperlink tool. If you simply copy and paste the code directly into your email, a long URL will appear in the final campaign.
