What to Do If Watermarking Fails on a Document

If watermarking fails when uploading a document to the data room (indicated by the “Failed” status in the watermarking column), follow these steps:

  1. Check if the document is a PDF. Watermarking is only possible for PDF files, so ensure your document is in the correct format before uploading.

  2. Check that your document is not encrypted, watermarking will not work on encrypted documents.

  3. Try uploading the document again. Sometimes, re-uploading can resolve the issue.

  4. You can also try simplifying your document, minimising design elements and images will help improve readability and reduce file size.
