what edgeful AI actually is
edgeful AI is a deep research tool. that's the most accurate frame for it — and understanding that frame will save you a lot of frustration.
it's not a daily prep shortcut. it's not a trade caller. it's not a market commentator. it's a research assistant with access to edgeful's full report library, built for the kind of thorough, data-backed analysis that takes time to do manually.
use it when you want to go deep. use the screener and WIP when you need to move fast.
what edgeful AI is genuinely good at
pattern hunting across date ranges
one of the most powerful things you can do with edgeful AI is investigate whether a pattern has changed over time. asking how a setup has behaved over the last 3 months vs the last year — and whether that edge has strengthened, weakened, or stayed consistent — is exactly the kind of analysis it's built for. the answer shapes how much conviction you should have in that setup today.
cross-report correlation analysis
combining multiple reports and asking the AI to find where they align — or where they contradict each other — is where edgeful AI earns its place. this isn't something you can do quickly on the report pages. pulling together data from 2 or 3 reports and looking for shared patterns across a ticker takes the kind of synthesis that the AI handles well and that manual analysis would take much longer to do.
pre-trade deep dives
before trading a setup you haven't run before, you can use edgeful AI to understand the full historical picture. not just "is this green on the screener today" but "what does this setup look like across the last 6 months, which days are strongest, what conditions does it tend to fail on." that depth of context changes how you approach the trade.
report deep dives per ticker
going past the summary view on any report page and asking the AI to walk you through the full data for a specific ticker, session, and date range. useful when a screener reading caught your eye and you want to understand what's behind it before acting on it.
what edgeful AI cannot do
give financial advice or trade recommendations
edgeful AI presents historical data. it won't tell you to buy, sell, or hold. it won't tell you where to put your stop or how much to risk. it's a data tool — the interpretation and decision are yours.
predict future price movement
this one is worth being direct about: nothing on edgeful predicts what price will do next. the platform shows you what has happened historically under similar conditions. edgeful AI works the same way. "will NQ go up today?" isn't a question it can answer — because the answer doesn't exist in historical data.
explain why price moved
edgeful AI works from statistical patterns, not market fundamentals, macro events, or news. if price did something unusual on a specific date, the AI can tell you what the data looked like that day — but it can't explain the cause. causation is outside its scope.
provide live or real-time data
every data point in edgeful AI's output is historical. it can't tell you what price is doing right now, whether a setup is actively forming, or what the current WIP readings are. for live data, use the screener and WIP.
access your personal account or trade history
edgeful AI has no visibility into your trades, your P&L, your entries, your open positions, or anything specific to your account. its knowledge is edgeful's market data, not your individual activity.
always be right
like any AI, edgeful AI can occasionally misread data, misinterpret a question, or produce a response that doesn't quite match what you were asking. treat its outputs as a strong starting point, not a final authority. when precision matters, cross-check against the actual report page.
edgeful AI is not a daily prep tool
the screener and WIP are your daily prep tools. they're visual, fast, and designed to be scanned in a few minutes before the open. edgeful AI is neither of those things.
running an Analyze Reports wizard each morning and then asking follow-up questions takes more time than pulling up the screener — and it's solving a different problem. the screener shows you the directional read across your watchlist right now. edgeful AI helps you understand the depth behind any one of those reads.
the right workflow is: use the screener for your daily bias, then use edgeful AI when something catches your eye and you want to go deeper before acting on it.
