Instead of adding or editing products one at a time, export a supplier's product list to a spreadsheet, make your changes there, and import it back.
You could use it to add new supplier products, update prices across a whole supplier, or fix pack sizes and codes in bulk.
Editing Products
1. Export the existing list
Open the supplier you want to update.
Select Export.
A CSV file will be downloaded with every existing product, one per row.
2. Editing your products in bulk
Open the file in Excel or Sheets:
Excel: Go to Data > From Text/CSV, set File Origin to 65001: Unicode (UTF-8), and import. When you save, use CSV UTF-8 (Comma delimited).
Google Sheets: Go to File > Import > Upload. Select the Separator Type as Comma, and click Import Data.
Edit the products rows as you need, and save as a .csv file again.
💡 Use exact values that match Edify's options. For Pack type, enter "Case", "Box", or "Bag" — not "Container" or similar. If you're unsure what a field accepts, check an existing product or contact Support before uploading.
Don't edit the Product Code column on existing products. That's how Edify knows what to update.
Enter prices as numbers only: 4.50, not £4.50.
Don't rename or delete the header row.
Deleting a row won't delete the product. Archive it in Edify instead.
3. Importing the product changes to Edify
On the supplier's product list, select Import products and add your file.
On Map columns, check each column is matched to the right field. Anything unmapped is ignored.
On Preview, check how many products are being created and updated, and whether any rows have errors.
If all products are ready - click Import.
Once the import is successful, your changes should be made to your product list.
Adding New Products
You can use the same importer to add products in bulk.
1. Download the template
On the supplier's product list, select Import products.
Download the template.
This gives you a blank CSV with the correct column headers.
2. Add your products
Open the file:
Excel: Go to Data > From Text/CSV, set File Origin to 65001: Unicode (UTF-8), and import. When you save, use CSV UTF-8 (Comma delimited).
Google Sheets: Go to File > Import > Upload, and click Import Data
Add one product per row.
💡 Use exact values that match Edify's options. For Pack type, enter "Case", "Box", or "Bag" — not "Container" or similar. If you're unsure what a field accepts, check an existing product or contact Support before uploading.
Give every product a Product Code. If the code already exists on that supplier, Edify will update that product instead of creating a new one.
Enter prices as numbers only: 4.50, not £4.50.
Don't rename or delete the header row.
Save as a .csv file again.
3. Importing it back to Edify
Back on the supplier's product list, select Import products and add your file.
On Map columns, check each column is matched to the right field. Anything unmapped is ignored.
On Preview, check the number of products being created matches how many rows you added. If it's lower, some of your codes have matched existing products and those rows will update instead.
If all products are ready, click Import.
Troubleshooting
Invalid value errors when uploading?
Usually the Pack type or Unit type is incorrect. Copy the exact value from an existing product.
Everything is in one column, or split by semicolons? Your computer's regional settings use a semicolon separator. Set the delimiter to comma when you open the file.
You've imported the wrong file? Contact Support with the supplier name and roughly what time you ran the import.
