Summary
The Command Centre lets you set up and change your Edify data by asking in plain English. You say what you want, Edify drafts it in a workspace, and nothing is saved until you check the workspace and approve it.
It replaces filling in a form for every item. A head chef can type "Make me a custard tart, 12 portions" and get back a draft recipe, with its ingredients matched to products you already buy and a cost per portion. An ops manager can attach a new supplier's invoice and get the supplier and its products drafted from it.
Command Centre is switched on per company. Once it's on, Admins can use it. Managers also need Use Ask Edify switched on in their user permissions.
How it works
Type what you want in the chat, or select the plus button and choose from Quick actions.
Check the workspace Edify drafts. Change anything that's wrong with the pencil in the workspace, or tell Edify in the chat.
Select the button at the foot of the workspace to approve it. This is the only step that changes anything in Edify.
If you need to reverse it, select Undo on the receipt.
Three ways to start
Type it. Write the request the way you'd say it to a colleague. Name the thing and the details you know, for example "Add Longley Farm double cream, case of 6 x 2L at £52.80".
Quick actions. Select the plus button, or type /, to see everything Command Centre can do. The Command Centre home page shows the five most used under
Suggested. Select from the most common requests.
Attach a document. Select the paperclip to add a supplier invoice or price list. Edify reads it and drafts the supplier and its products.
Reading a workspace
Every change arrives in a workspace, and every workspace works the same way. Anything Edify needs from you sits at the top, the details sit below, and one button at the foot saves it.
This example adds a new product: "Add Longley Farm double cream from Longley Farm, case of 6 x 2L at £52.80". The workspace has two parts because there's no Double Cream Master Product yet. The supplier product is what you buy, at Longley Farm's pack and price. The Master Product is the ingredient your recipes and stocktakes use. If one already existed, Edify would link the new product to it instead.
Part | What it means |
1. Needed before you can add it | Anything Edify couldn't fill in. Here it asks which category cream belongs in. Pick one and the panel clears. |
2. The rows | Each detail sits on its own row. Select the pencil on a row to change it, or tell Edify in the chat. |
3. Assumed | Edify's best guess. Check these first. |
4. Status | Available means sites can order it. Unavailable: sites can't order it means it's set up but kept out of ordering. |
5. Counted in | Where it's counted at stocktake. Pick an area sets it at every site with an area of that name, Choose per site sets each site separately, and Don't count it leaves it off every count sheet. |
6. The button | Saves everything in the workspace in one go. It stays grey until the panel at the top is clear, and the line beside it shows how many things are left. |
💡 You can add a product without choosing Counted in, but it won't appear on any count sheet until you do.
After you approve
The workspace turns into a receipt showing what was saved and anything that couldn't be. Undo puts back everything in that workspace. If someone has edited one of those items since, Undo leaves their edit alone and tells you which ones it left.
Until you approve, nothing has happened. You can change the workspace, ask Edify to redraft it, or leave it.

What it won't do
Command Centre won't save anything you haven't approved. It doesn't place orders or submit stocktakes; those stay where they are in Edify.
It doesn't update recipe allergen lists when you replace an ingredient. The workspace tells you when the allergens differ, and you update the recipes.
It can't continue an old chat. Every chat is kept under Recent chats, where you can open it to see its workspaces and what was approved. Past chats are read-only, so select New chat to carry on.
If it doesn't work
I can't see Command Centre
It's switched on per company, and then available to Admins. Managers also need Use Ask Edify switched on, so ask an Admin to turn it on for you.
A Quick action I've read about isn't there
Some actions depend on what your company uses. Find my POS matches only appears for companies with a connected till and POS matching switched on.
It asked me which company
You look after more than one company, for example as a franchise admin. Pick the company the change is for, or put the company name in your request so it doesn't need to ask.
Nobody can order a product
Check its Status. Unavailable products can't be ordered. On the Master Product page this shows as Suspended. If the product is Available, check its supplier, because products from a suspended supplier can't be ordered either.
I approved it but nothing changed
Read the receipt in the workspace. It lists anything that didn't save, and why. Then open the item in Edify to check it. If what saved is wrong, select Undo and ask again.
I can't type in this chat
It's a past chat, and past chats are read-only. Select New chat.
Where did my draft go?
It's in the chat you started it in, under Recent chats.
Edify asked me a question with buttons
Pick the answer that fits, or type your own.
Edify got it wrong
Tell it what's wrong in plain words, for example "That's the wrong supplier, I meant Bates Dairies". It redrafts the workspace. If it still misses after two tries, contact us through the messenger with what you asked.
