You are able to log wasted products and menu items. This will allow you to view reports for your wastage, and the costs of wasted products will be accounted for in your COG’s reporting.
On the left-hand menu select "Waste & Transfer"
Then select "Waste"
Select the products you would like to waste then click "Waste"
Select Waste Reason
Select the quantity
Select the unit of measure (the options available will be determined by the product setup)
Click "Waste"

I need to waste a menu item but can't find it in the list, where is it?
All products on Edify are available to waste by default, but not all recipes are available to waste by default. To make a recipe available to waste ensure it has "count in stocktake" ticked. If you don't have permission to edit a recipe your systems manager will be able to help.
Does all waste need to be tracked in Edify?
For the most accuracy in your COGs report and avoid variances you should aim to track all wastage within Edify.
Does Edify pull in waste from POS systems?
No, Edify does not pull in wastage from other systems including POS systems. All wastage should be completed in Edify.
I forgot to put through something I wasted, what should I do?
Waste can be backdated by up to seven days, so just follow the usual wastage steps and select the date you wasted it.
