Are travel expenses during my package covered?

You are expected to cover your own travel costs to and from a package. However, any travel costs incurred during your package when supporting your care recipient (e.g., taking a care recipient to a medical appointment) will be reimbursed and the client charged. Please retain all receipts for such expenses and submit them through the travel reimbursement form for approval.

Emergency travel

In some circumstances, edyn.care may offer to reimburse some or all of your travel costs to a placement in an emergency. This applies only when your package starts within one week of you confirming to cover the emergency. Additionally, return travel costs will be reimbursed if the stay with the care recipient is less than one week.

Here’s how the process works:

  1. Collect and Keep Receipts: Make sure to keep all receipts for your travel. Please note that travel itineraries do not count as receipts. We cannot reimburse you without proper receipts.

  2. Submit the Travel Reimbursement Form: Once your travel is completed, fill out the travel reimbursement form found in the forms section of the carer portal.

For access to the forms, click the button below.

N.B. The type of travel that can be reimbursed are train, car and bus. Taxi’s will only be reimbursed if and when they have been approved prior to the journey taking place.
