What should I do if I'm disturbed during the night more than the policy allows or I have been unable to take my break?

Guidance on how to report and handle instances where night disturbances exceed policy limits or when breaks are missed.

If you experience disturbances during a 'Sleeping Night' more than twice or for longer than 15 minutes each or you have been unable to take some or all of your break, please report this through ‘Additional Hours’ form HERE, which is also located in the forms section of your edyn.care account.

As a first step, you will be entitled to additional break time on top of and linked to your 2 hour break, if this is not possible, and in agreement with the family, you will be provided additional compensation. If the problem persists beyond 1 week, the care management team will also reassess the care package to address this issue.

Remember that if you did not have contact time for an hour or more throughout the day, this would also count as an additional break and would be counted towards the daily average hours worked.
