How it works
Eedi works by identifying each students misconceptions using diagnostic questions to identify the specific nature of any misunderstandings.
Once we've discovered a misconception, each student is guided through worked examples using my Silent Teacher, Narration, Read the Maths and Your Turn approaches to help resolve the misconception.
Fluency and Intelligent Practice is then given to them to help develop confidence and competence. Students who master the concept then get a Stretch and Challenge task to complete π
Once the assignment is completed, you'll get the results.
To get started, here are the steps you need to follow to set your class work:
Go to Set work
Choose your quiz. You can take a look at them by clicking View quiz. Once you've selected the quiz you want, click Assign this quiz.
Select your Class and set the Start date and Due date here.
You can also turn interventions on and off at this stage. If you'd like to use the quizzes for formative assessment only, you can toggle off all lessons.
Lessons occur when we have identified a misconception that needs to be resolved. Disabling this feature means that students are only asked to complete 5 diagnostic questions.
Now go to Assignments to view the quiz you set your class.
In Assignments, you'll see:
Quiz name - the quiz you chose to set your class
Results - an overview of your entire class results
Start date - the start date you set
End date - the due date you set
'Active' means the quiz is available for the class to complete now.
'Upcoming' means that the quiz is not available yet, but will come available when the start date you set is reached.
In the Misconceptions tab under Assignments, you can view the data from over 50 million answers to each quiz completed on our platform.
You can see this data before your class has completed their assignment, to get an idea of the common misconceptions in each topic and the reasons behind them.
A continuous system of misconception identification provides you with the foresight you need to intervene effectively in students' learning.
Once your students' start completing the assignment, you can view the results in Assignments, then Results.
Under Results, you can see:
Number of students who have completed the assignment
Number of misconceptions identified
Number of misconceptions resolved
Click into Results to view each students result in more detail.
