Connect BMW

Follow these steps to connect a BMW to EEVEE

Updated over 4 months ago

What do I need

In order to link your BMW you'll need to

  • Enter you VIN number.

  • have a MyBMW account. This can be created through the BMW website.

    • Important: You need to be the main user of the car. A joint user does not have sufficient permissions to allow data sharing.

  • Charging history needs to be enabled in the BMW-app/vehicle. Please check this in the official BMW app and/or vehicle.

  • have a connected drive subscription. This may be a paid service.

Step-by-step

  1. Start the onboarding flow

  2. Enter your VIN (vehicle identification number)
Check out this article to locate your VIN

  3. Confirm your location (inside Europe)
BMW currently does not support cars outside of Europe

  4. Check your email for a verification link
If you didn't receive an email, check spam or the known issues

  5. Confirm data sharing access via MyBMW
In the official online portal for BMW

  6. Enjoy EEVEE!

What you need to know

EEVEE relies on the data of BMW to provide the charging sessions and make them visible in the EEVEE app. When they are present in the BMW-app, they should be present in our app.

When your car has no connection (area with limited or without any reception or when the CarData subscription is expired), some models have a limited buffer which can save sessions that are not uploaded to the BMW CarData Cloud yet. But this is not infinite. It is important the data gets uploaded as often as possible so EEVEE can retrieve all data and no data is lost.

If you notice any issues with the syncing of charging data, be sure to let us know via the Chat-function in our app.

Still having issues? Talk to us via the chat-functionality in our app!
