With both the Chat and Chat Pro elements, Effi allows you to curate and display incoming messages from viewers watching on all platforms to viewers watching on all platforms. Let's say you're streaming to Twitch and YouTube simultaneously. Those watching on Twitch can see what the viewers on YouTube are saying, and vice versa. It's a great way to not only connect the audience but displaying messages within a broadcast makes the audience part of the show.
While Chat offers a more "set it and forget it" approach to curation, Chat Pro gives you full control with the addition of its own Moderation Panel that allows you to hand-select each message that is displayed to the viewers.
Here's a look at the Moderation Panel
1. Chat Pro List: If you are using more than one Chat Pro in your event, they will be listed at the top. They will each require separate moderation, but you can toggle between them from this panel.
2. Chat Preview: This shows you the chat window exactly how the audience sees it.
3. Delay: The time you want between messages in the queue. The default is 20 seconds. But this number really depends on how many comments are coming in. For example, if you have a lot of comments, you probably want to make that number lower so more get seen and no one comment is on screen for too long.
4. All: This column shows you all the incoming messages from all of the platforms you are streaming to.
5. Favorite: This column shows you all the messages you've favorited.
6. Queue: This column is the list of messages that you've decided will be shown to the audience. They are displayed from top to bottom.
7. Send all messages to Queue: Toggling this option on will automatically send all incoming messages to the queue.
8. Filter words: As you can see in the description, we have a database of inappropriate, hateful, and harassing words, expressions, and emojis. Toggling this option will filter those out. But note that this only applies when you have "Send all messages to Queue" turned on as well.
9. Enter additional words to filter: This field is for you to enter anything else you'd like to filter from the chat.
10. Invite Moderator: This button allows you to invite someone as a moderator. They will not have access to any other part of your event or account, only the Moderation Panel.
That covers the basics of the Moderation Panel but to understand how to use it, we need to discuss those symbols you see next to each message.
Now that you've had a look at the Moderation Panel and its functions, you have all the pieces you need to curate an exciting chat for your audience using Chat Pro.
💡 Chat Pro requires a pretty hands-on approach so for many types of events it may also require an extra set of hands, which is why we give you the option to invite moderators right from your Chat Pro element.
That being said, because Chat Pro is more of a hands-on approach it may often require some additional help. But don't worry! That's why we made it easy to invite moderators right from the Chat Pro Options or the Moderation Panel.
