Effi allows you to stream to multiple destinations at once, and has two elements that allow you to pull in all of those incoming messages and then curate and display them to your live viewers watching on all platforms: Chat and Chat Pro. Both give you the option for complete control over what is displayed to your audience, but Chat provides a more hands-off approach that allows you to display multiple messages with very little effort, while Chat Pro requires a more hands-on approach and allows you to highlight a single message at a time and every message is curated by you. We'll get into more of that later. If you want to add Chat Pro to your event, just follow along below to learn how.
Add Chat Pro to your event
Select the scene youโd like to add Chat to from the bottom of your studio, then click the Elements icon on the right-hand side.
Same as when you are adding regular Chat, you will select "Chat" from the list, but now you will toggle on "Use Chat Pro."
Next, select a style and your Chat Pro will populate in your scene.
That's how simple it is to add a chat pro element to your event. Continue on to learn about designing your element.
Customizing your Chat Pro
Choose "Design" from the Chat Pro Options menu
Go ahead and change your backgrounds, colors, fonts, and borders. Anything you want to make your Chat Pro match the look and feel you want for your event.
Once you're finished customizing your chat pro element, it's time to talk about what makes it "pro:" the Moderation Panel.
Moderating Chat Pro
Unlike regular Chat where all the settings and moderation happen within Stage, Chat Pro has it's own Moderation Panel where you will be able to set all the filtering, settings, andcurate chat throughout the broadcast.
You will find the Moderation Panel under "Moderation" in your Chat Pro Options menu.
The Moderation Panel will open up in a new tab. Let's take a closer look at everything in the Moderation Panel and how it works.
1. Chat Pro List: If you are using more than one Chat Pro in your event, they will be listed at the top. They will each require separate moderation, but you can toggle between them from this panel.
2. Chat Preview: This shows you the chat window exactly how the audience sees it.
3. Delay: The time you want between messages in the queue. The default is 20 seconds. But this number really depends on how many comments are coming in. For example, if you have a lot of comments, you probably want to make that number lower so more get seen and no one comment is on screen for too long.
4. All: This column shows you all the incoming messages from all of the platforms you are streaming to.
5. Favorite: This column shows you all the messages you've favorited.
6. Queue: This column is the list of messages that you've decided will be shown to the audience. They are displayed from top to bottom.
7. Send all messages to Queue: Toggling this option on will automatically send all incoming messages to the queue.
8. Filter words: As you can see in the description, we have a database of inappropriate, hateful, and harassing words, expressions, and emojis. Toggling this option will filter those out. But note that this only applies when you have "Send all messages to Queue" turned on as well.
9. Enter additional words to filter: This field is for you to enter anything else you'd like to filter from the chat.
10. Invite Moderator: This button allows you to invite someone as a moderator. They will not have access to any other part of your event or account, only the Moderation Panel.
โ
That covers the basics of the Moderation Panel but to understand how to use it, we need to discuss those symbols you see next to each message.
Now that you've had a look at the Moderation Panel and its functions, you have all the pieces you need to curate an exciting chat for your audience using Chat Pro.
๐ก Chat Pro requires a pretty hands-on approach so for many types of events it may also require an extra set of hands, which is why we give you the option to invite moderators right from your Chat Pro element.
That being said, because Chat Pro is more of a hands-on approach it may often require some additional help. But don't worry! That's why we made it easy to invite moderators right from the Chat Pro Options or the Moderation Panel.
