Effi makes sure that you have control over your devices each time your join a broadcast. So if your built-in webcam or mic isn't going to cut it, Effi makes it easy to use the device you want.
Adding an external camera or mic
If you would like to add a camera or mic other than your computer's default, all you need to do is plug it into your computer per the device's instructions. Likely through your USB or USB C ports.
If the camera or mic requires installation on your computer, then do that before trying to use it with Effi.
Once you have completed all the necessary installation steps, the device will be available as an option in Effi. We will get deeper into that in the next section.
Selecting an external device
When you are invited as a guest to a broadcast, when you except your invitation, you will be shown the devices you currently have enabled, and you will be given the option to select an alternate.
From the list of available devices, select the external camera or mic you'd like to use.
If you have already joined the broadcast and then decide you would like to switch to your external camera, you can do that as well.
Select the My Info icon at the top right corner, choose "Audio & video," and then select the camera or mic you'd like to use from the list of available devices.
As long as your device is set up correctly, as explained in the first part, it will appear in the list, and you can use it at any time in the broadcast.
