In case a team member is sick, there're two thing to take into account:
Planning: because the sick team member is not able to work.
Hour registration: to keep the hour balance correct.
Planning
A team member who is sick cannot work or be scheduled. Therefore, it is useful to report that person sick on the planning.
How to report a team member sick?
Click on ''Tools'' > Sick reports'' in the top right of one of the planning pages.
Select the team member who is sick from the dropdown.
Select the date of the sick call.
Click save.
Reporting someone sick will cause this person to be displayed in the planning with an emoji ๐ค. Scheduling this person will create a conflict.
How to report a team member better?
Under 'Active sick reports' you can enter an end date of the sick report.
As soon as you report a team member better, the sick report will appear under ''Sick reports in the past''.
Hour registration
For team members with a fixed contract, the hours should be recorded as sick hours in the hour registration as this keeps the plus/minus balance correct. Reporting sick via the Planning panel does not automatically cause sick hours to be registered. That still has to be done in the time registration manually.
There are two options for this:
The team member was already scheduled and you didn't remove this team member from the shift: the scheduled hours will then simply appear in the time registration. When approving the hours, you can indicate that the hour type is not 'worked hours' but 'sick hours'.
The team member was not yet scheduled: you can add one or more separate hour entries to the time registration and give them the type ''sick hours''. You can read more about it in this article.
