Revenue group vs. Sales area

Learn about the difference between integration based on groups or sales areas

Updated this week

For the POS integrations with Lightspeed L Series and Untill, you can choose how you want to link:

  1. Per revenue group: Link per revenue group to make a distinction between revenue from, for example, the bar and the kitchen.

  2. Per sales area: Link per sales area to divide the revenue over the different locations of the revenue.

Revenue group

You create revenue groups yourself in your POS system; familiar examples are 'Drinks - high,' 'Drinks - low,' 'Brunch,' 'Cocktails,' and 'Dinner.' These are just examples; it depends on how you categorise your revenue in your POS system. Each product is then linked to a revenue group (Champagne is linked to 'Drinks - high,' beer to 'Drinks - low,' and Scrambled eggs with Bacon to 'Brunch'). A receipt often consists of multiple revenue groups, but we examine each product on the receipt and assign it to the appropriate group.

If you link per revenue group in Eitje, this directly retrieves all revenue from your cash register from the different revenue groups. So if you have 100,- for the 'Revenue group: Drinks', then there will also be 100,- retrieved if you have this group selected in Eitje.

Sales area

Just like the other option, this retrieves the revenue per revenue group, but now you can also specify it per sales area, this is convenient if you wish to compare revenue between different physical areas in your establishment (e.g., terrace and indoors, or first and second floor). You can then link all revenue groups per zone to a group in Eitje. For example, you might have 'Terrace - Drinks high' and 'Basement - Drinks high,' and you can put them under 'Terrace' and 'Basement' in Eitje.
