Common errors resulting in failed identity verification troubleshooting

Double-check your personal information

Make sure all fields match your official government records exactly (such as your driver’s license or Social Security card).

  • First Name: Enter your first name in the First Name box only.

  • Middle Name: Enter your middle name in the Middle Name box.

    • If you don’t have a middle name, type NONE in this field.

  • Last Name: Enter your last name in the Last Name box only.

Confirm your address

Ensure that the address you enter is your current physical residential address, not a P.O. Box or mailing address.

Verify your Social Security Number

Check that your Social Security Number (SSN) is entered correctly and without typos.

  • Don’t add extra spaces or dashes.

  • Make sure all nine digits are entered.

Try again

Once you’ve confirmed all information is accurate, resubmit your verification. Most users are successfully verified after correcting small data entry errors.
