Quick Menu Editor Complete User Guide

Welcome to the Quick Menu Editor guide. This guide will help you build your menu from scratch step by step.

By the end of this guide you will know how to:

• Create menus

• Configure menu settings

• Add categories and sub categories

• Add menu items

• Upload images

• Add allergens and dietary requirements

• Create modifiers

• Rearrange your menu

• Preview and publish your changes


Step 1. Open Quick Menu Editor

Log into your dashboard and open the Quick Menu Editor page.

This is where all menu management is completed.


Step 2. Create Your First Menu

How To Create A Menu

  1. Click the New button

  2. Enter the menu name

  3. Add a description if required

  4. Click Create Menu




Example Menu Names

• Main Menu

• Breakfast Menu

• Drinks Menu

• Dessert Menu


Step 3. Configure Your Menu Settings

After creating the menu, you will automatically open the Default Settings page.

These settings control reporting, tax and printer routing.


Tax Settings

You can configure separate tax rates for:

• Delivery

• Takeaway

• Eat In

Example

20% VAT is commonly used as the default setting.


Reporting Category

Reporting categories help organise sales reporting.

Example

If your menu only contains food items, select:

Food

This means all items in this menu will report as food sales.


Primary Screen Settings

Primary Screens control where orders print.

This is useful if you use multiple printers.

You can assign menus to different printer screens depending on where orders should print.


Step 4. Add Categories

Categories help organise your menu structure.


How To Add Categories

  1. Open the menu

  2. Click Edit

  3. Click Add Category

For new menus, the button appears near the top.

For existing menus, scroll to the bottom to find it.

  1. Enter the category name

  2. Add an image or description if required

  3. Click Create Category

• Starters

• Burgers

• Pizza

• Desserts

• Drinks


Step 5. Add Sub Categories

Sub categories help further organise menu sections.


Example Structure

Drinks

→ Cocktails

→ Beer

→ Soft Drinks


How To Add Sub Categories

  1. Open the menu

  2. Find the category

  3. Click Sub Category

  4. Enter the sub category name

  5. Save changes


Step 6. Add Menu Items

Now you can start adding products to your categories.


How To Add Items

  1. Open the menu

  2. Find the category where you want the item

  3. Click Add Item

A sidebar will open with three options:

• Blank Menu Item

• Create From Template

• Select Existing Item


Step 7. Create A Blank Menu Item

Use this option to create completely new products.


How To Create A Blank Item

  1. Select Blank Menu Item

  2. Enter the item name

  3. Add a description

  4. Enter the price

  5. Upload an image if required

  6. Add allergen information

  7. Add modifiers if needed

  8. Click Save Changes

The item is now attached to the selected category.

Cheeseburger

Description:

Beef burger with cheese, lettuce and burger sauce.

Price:

£12.95


Step 8. Create Items From Templates

Templates speed up menu creation for common item types.

Example Templates

• Wine

• Spirits

Templates already include pre configured modifiers.

You only need to:

• Enter names

• Enter prices

• Save changes


Step 9. Use Existing Items

If you already created an item previously, you can reuse it in another menu or category.


How To Use Existing Items

  1. Click Select Existing Item

  2. Search for the product

  3. Select the item

  4. Attach it to the menu

This avoids creating duplicate products.


Step 10. Add Allergens And Dietary Requirements

Allergen information is important for customer safety and compliance.


How To Add Allergens

  1. Open the menu item

  2. Click Edit

  3. Open Allergens & Dietary Requirements

  4. Select the relevant options

  5. Click Save


Available Options

Contains

Items definitely contain the allergen.

May Contain

Possible traces may be present.

Dietary Requirements

Used for dietary filters.


Example Dietary Tags

• Vegan

• Vegetarian

• Gluten Free

• Halal


Step 11. Add Modifiers

Modifiers allow customers to customise products.

Step 12. Add Existing Modifiers

Use existing modifiers to save time.


How To Add Existing Modifiers

  1. Open the menu item

  2. Click Edit

  3. Open Modifiers

  4. Select Existing Modifier

  5. Search for the modifier

  6. Attach it

  7. Save changes


Step 13. Create New Modifiers


How To Create New Modifiers

  1. Open the menu item

  2. Click Modifiers

  3. Select the modifier type

  4. Enter the modifier name

  5. Add pricing if needed

  6. Save changes



Modifier Examples

Option Modifier

Used for selections.

Examples

• Small

• Medium

• Large

or

• Pint

• Half Pint


Extra Modifier

Used for extras.

Examples

• Extra Cheese

• Extra Sauce

• Extra Toppings


Upsell Modifier

Used to increase order value.

Examples

• Add Fries

• Add Garlic Bread

• Add Soft Drink


Step 14. Rearrange Categories

You can change category order anytime.


How To Rearrange Categories

  1. Open the menu

  2. Click Edit

  3. Click Re Order Categories

  4. Drag and move categories

  5. Save changes


Step 15. Disable Categories

Disabled categories will not appear on the live menu.


How To Disable Categories

  1. Open the menu

  2. Find the category

  3. Click Edit beside the category

  4. Turn on the Disable toggle

  5. Click Update



Disable a product

Disabled products will not appear on the live menu.

How To Disable products

  1. Open the Quick menu Editor

  2. Find the menu

  3. Click Edit beside the menu

  4. Click Edit beside the product

  5. Tick box the Disabled Button on this page

  6. Click save Changes.

Step 16. Save And Publish Changes

After making updates always save your work.


How To Publish Changes

  1. Click Save after editing

  2. Return to the Quick Menu Editor page

  3. The menu will now show as Draft

  4. Click Publish to make changes live


How To Revert Changes

If you do not want the latest updates:

  1. Return to the Quick Menu Editor page

  2. Click Revert

  3. The menu will return to the previous published version


Step 17. Preview Your Menu

Preview allows you to review the customer facing menu before publishing.


How To Preview A Menu

  1. Go to Quick Menu Editor

  2. Find the menu

  3. Click the Three Dots button

  4. Click Preview

You can now review the menu exactly as customers will see it.


Final Checklist Before Publishing

Before publishing your menu check:

✅ Categories are organised correctly

✅ Prices are accurate

✅ Images are uploaded

✅ Allergens are added

✅ Modifiers are working

✅ Disabled categories are hidden correctly

✅ Printer routing is correct

✅ The menu layout looks clean and organised

✅ All changes have been saved

✅ The menu has been published successfully
