What details can I change about my business?

You can change your business category and your business size. You can also change your physical address.

What if I don’t have my IRD number?

You can skip entering your IRD number but you will need complete this step to fully activate your account.

What if I don’t have a company?

You will need to be the director of a company to sign up to Emerge. You can create a company at the Companies Register.

What if I am not on the companies register but run a company. Can I still create an Emerge account?

We currently don’t allow for nominee directors or shareholders to create accounts. We will be working on this in the future.


I have a company on NZBN but can’t find it on Emerge. What should I do?

Business results are pulled from the Companies Register. If you can’t find your business, make sure your filings are up to date and are still active on the Companies Office. Also, make sure you are using your registered or trading name. If you still can’t find your company, you can update your details on the Companies Office here: https://companies-register.companiesoffice.govt.nz/

Do you accept trusts, charities, societies or clubs?

We currently do not offer financial services for trusts, charities, societies or clubs. However, we are collecting interest for these structures and would love for you to join our waiting list.

I am a sole trader/freelancer with a registered NZBN. Can I use Emerge?
