Step 1: Select the 'Survey' Study Type

Begin by selecting the 'survey' study type when creating your project on the platform.

Step 2: Complete the 'Project Details' Section

  1. Internal Project Name: Enter a unique name for internal use.

  2. Public Display Name: This will be used in the subject line of the study invitation.

  3. Project Description: Write a description for the main body of the invitation. You can use the 'Rewrite with AI' feature for optimization.

  4. Target Survey Completes: Specify the number of survey completions you aim to achieve.

  5. Estimated Survey Length: Enter the expected duration of the survey in minutes.

Step 3: Define Audience Criteria

  1. Fill in the Audience Criteria section, which is crucial for our feasibility assessment.

  2. Include any relevant information about your project.

Step 4: Generate and Inspect Your 'Audience Preview'

  1. Click 'Preview Audience' to preview potential participants.

  2. Review and fine-tune your Audience Criteria to ensure the sample audience aligns with your desired demographic.

  3. Use the estimated audience size in the 'Audience Preview' section to check if your audience is too narrow or too broad.

Step 5: Fill Out the 'Project Settings' section

  1. Survey Platform: Choose between building your survey on Emporia or integrating with an external solution

    • If integrating externally, select 'No - I want to integrate with an external survey solution' and enter your survey link with the necessary variables (see below for more explanation)

    • For assistance with the survey link, choose 'Yes - Guide me in crafting my redirect link' and follow the prompts

  2. Incidence Rate (IR): Provide an estimate of the eligible participants within your audience criteria

  3. Auto Pause Project: Decide if recruitment should pause once the target completions are reached

  4. Personal Identifiable Information (PII): Specify if your screener will collect PII from respondents

  5. Device Types: Specify which devices will be allowed for the study

If Integrating With An External Survey Solution:

Option 1:

  1. If your survey link is set and ready for use, select 'No - My redirect link is ready to go'

  2. Insert your survey link with all the appended variables in the survey link section. Make certain to set your custom variable to equal {Emporia_ID}.

Option 2:

  1. If you require assistance in creating your survey link, choose 'Yes - Guide me in crafting my redirect link'

  2. Input your base survey link and your custom variable, and add any static variables you wish to append, placing each in their respective fields.

For more information on integrating with an external solution, visit our survey integration guide or reach out to our Client Solutions team for assistance.

Step 6: Save Draft and Request Feasibility

  1. Click ‘Save As Draft’ to save your project in the 'Draft' section.

  2. Select 'Request Feasibility' in the 'Project Details' section to notify our team.

  3. Expect a feasibility score and project cost estimate within two hours during business hours (9 am to 5 pm EST, Monday to Friday). You should receive an email alerting you to the update.

Step 7: Prepare for Project Kick-off

  1. (If using external survey solution) Add our exit URLs to your survey to ensure proper participant redirection.

  2. (Optional) Upload a copy of your screener for our team to review.

  3. (Optional) Go to 'Edit Project' and provide a link to a Quota Dashboard if available for real-time monitoring.

  4. Click 'Test Integration' to run a test and verify functionality.

Step 8: Final Review and Kick-off

  1. Review all Project Details thoroughly

  2. Click 'Kick-off Project' to activate your project

By following these steps, you can efficiently create and launch your quantitative survey project on our platform. For further assistance, consult our support articles or contact our Client Solutions team.
