Error: GoodLeap TPO solar access / TSRF data missing

How to resolve GoodLeap TPO errors related to missing solar access or TSRF data in Enerflo by accessing irradiance data in Aurora, downloading a shade report, and re-syncing the design.

If you receive one of the following errors when creating a proposal, it means the required solar access data is missing:

  • GoodLeap TPO: Proposal does not have solar access by month information.

  • GoodLeap TPO: Proposal does not have TSRF information.

  • GoodLeap TPO: Design does not have solar access information.

These errors typically occur when the design used is not compatible. GoodLeap TPO requires Aurora, Aerialytic, Scanifly, or Solargraf as the design tool. Using any other design source (e.g. Solo, Manual, etc.) will result in these errors.

STEP 1

Access Irradiance Data in Aurora

  1. Open the Aurora Design.

  2. Click the Irradiance icon (Sun Symbol).

  3. If no data appears, wait for the irradiance analysis to complete.

Understanding the TSRF Requirement

TSRF (Total Solar Resource Fraction) measures system productivity as a ratio of production to system size:

TSRF = Annual Production (kWh) ÷ System Size (kW)

Example: a system producing 10,682 kWh/year at 10.25 kW = 10,682 ÷ 10.25 ≈ 1,042.

If a proposal fails GoodLeap's TSRF/productivity threshold, there are two levers to adjust:

  • Increase production while keeping system size the same (e.g., improve panel placement, reduce shading, change orientation), or

  • Decrease system size while keeping production the same.

Orientation note: In some states/lender combinations, orientation alone can make the requirement unreachable. For example, for GoodLeap TPO deals in Ohio, an east/west-facing roof will generally not be able to meet the TSRF requirement — the home effectively needs south-facing exposure for the equation to clear. If you hit this wall in Ohio (or a similar market), check the roof orientation before spending time adjusting production or system size.
