How Auto-Apply Works
Checking Auto-apply to new Proposals on an adder tells Enerflo to load that adder automatically whenever a new proposal is created. However, auto-apply alone does not guarantee the adder will appear on every deal — it is the first of two filters the system runs.
When a proposal is created, Enerflo evaluates every auto-apply adder in two steps:
Activation model — does this deal meet the conditions required for the adder to activate? If not, the adder is skipped.
Pricing option targeting — does this deal match the targeting rules on the adder's pricing option? If not, the adder is skipped.
Any adder that fails either check will appear in the proposal's Skipped Adders section with a reason. This is the first place to look when an auto-apply adder isn't showing up.
Activation Models — Scoping by Deal Type
Activation models control when an adder is active on a deal. This is how you scope an auto-apply adder to specific deal types, states, system sizes, or deal template question answers.
To set an activation model, go to Settings > Pricing > Adders, click the adder, and use the Activation Model dropdown. There are three options:
Always Active — the adder activates on every proposal where targeting rules are met. Use this for adders that should apply universally across all deal types.
Project Address State — activates only when the customer's address matches one or more specified states. Useful for state-specific fees or incentives.
System Size Threshold — activates based on the system size on the deal. Useful for adders that only apply above or below a certain kW threshold.
Custom — activates based on a JavaScript condition you define, such as a specific deal template question answer (e.g., mounting type, roof replacement, MPU option). This is the most flexible option and the primary way to scope adders to a specific deal type or workflow. Custom activation requires JavaScript knowledge — contact Enerflo Support if you need help building a custom condition.
Enerflo also includes built-in presets that cover the most common design-based activation conditions without requiring custom JavaScript:
Mounting type — activates based on whether the system is roof-mounted or ground-mounted, as determined by the design.
Roof material — activates based on the roof material type on the design (e.g., shingle, tile, metal).
Panel count threshold — activates above or below a specified panel count.
Finance method — activates only when a specific financing method is selected on the proposal.
Pitch — activates based on the roof pitch value from the design.
⚠️ Important: If you are using Always Active on an adder that should only apply in certain situations, it will attempt to activate on every proposal. Use a more specific activation model to avoid unintended behavior.
Targeting — Scoping by Office, Sales Org, or Finance Method
Targeting rules on a pricing option control which deals an adder's pricing is available for. This is separate from the activation model and runs after it.
To configure targeting, click the edit icon on the adder's pricing option and expand the relevant sections. Adders can be targeted or excluded by:
Authorized dealer or sales org
City, state, or zip code
Deal template
Finance method
Equipment
Market or sales team
Utility
By default, all options are included. Use the toggles to exclude specific dealers, orgs, or markets where the adder should not apply.
Why Isn't My Auto-Apply Adder Showing Up?
If an adder is set to auto-apply but isn't appearing on a proposal, work through these checks in order:
Check Skipped Adders — on the proposal, look for a Skipped Adders section in the pricing outputs. It will show which adders were skipped and why.
Check the activation model — confirm the deal meets the conditions set on the adder. For custom activation models, verify the deal template question referenced in the condition has been answered and matches the expected value.
Check pricing option targeting — go to Settings > Pricing > Adders, click the adder, and click the edit icon on the pricing option. Confirm the deal's authorized dealer, sales org, or market isn't being excluded.
Check the pricing model — confirm the adder has been added to the pricing model being used by the deal template. See Admins: How to Edit Adders for steps.
Check the deal template — confirm the pricing model containing the adder is attached to the deal template being used on the deal.
If the adder passes all of the above checks and still isn't showing, contact Enerflo Support with a link to the adder settings and an example deal.
