NCAAF (CFB) Team Survivor (Private Contests): Commissioner Setup — Tiebreaker Resolution

Core Tiebreaker Settings

Setting

What It Does

Default

Notes

Tiebreaker Resolution

How a final tie among alive entries resolves.

Split (co-winners)

Options: Split (co-winners); Single winner via tiebreaker stack. Co-winner split is how most people understand Survivor.

Last Entrant With Teams Remaining Wins

If exactly one entrant still has eligible teams while every other remaining entrant has run out, that entrant is declared the winner — no final correct pick required.

Off

A niche end-of-contest scenario in team-use-capped pools. Editable up to 48 hours before the first game; locked once the contest starts.

Tiebreaker Stack
What it does: Ordered rules used to resolve to a single winner.
Default: Empty
Options (reorderable):

  • Most Weeks Survived

  • Closest to Championship-Game Total

  • Strength of Victory (SOV — cumulative win margin, highest wins)

Notes: The first rule that produces a non-tie result resolves the winner. Editable at any time, even mid-contest. In practice, SOV is the rule that most often decides it. "Closest to championship-game total" captures each entry's predicted total at entry creation (CFB = National Championship).

Summary: By default, Survivor ends in a co-winner split. Commissioners who want a single champion need to build a Tiebreaker Stack. Last Entrant With Teams Remaining Wins is the one tiebreaker-adjacent setting that locks once the contest starts.
