Setting Up Entrant Groups

Entrant Groups let you split your contest's entrants into smaller groups, each with its own leaderboard. This is a great way to run sub-leagues within a larger contest — for example, separate standings for different offices, friend groups, or divisions.

Step 1: Enable Group Standings

  1. Go to Contest > Contest Settings.

  2. Open the Entrant Groups tab.

  3. Toggle on Group standings.

Toggle on Group standings

This enables grouped leaderboards and unlocks the rest of the settings on this page.

Step 2: Choose a Group Assignment Mode

Once Group standings is on, choose how entrants get placed into groups:

Mode

What it does

Commissioner assigns groups

Entrants join the contest without choosing a group. You assign them manually afterward.

Entrants may choose a group

Entrants can optionally pick a group when they join.

Entrants must choose a group

Entrants are required to select an existing group before they can join.

Note: You'll need at least one group created before you can require entrants to choose one.

Step 3: Create Your Groups

Scroll down to the Contest groups section.

  1. Under Add new group, enter a group name (e.g., "Group 1," "Office A," "West Division").

  2. Click Add group.

  3. Repeat for each group you want to create.

Renaming or deleting a group

Click the ⋯ menu on any group card to Rename or Delete that group.

Step 4: Save Your Changes

Click Save changes once your groups and settings are set up.

Because this can affect submitted picks, slates, or standings, you'll see a confirmation dialog:

Confirm these changes
Saving will apply 1 change that affects submitted picks, slates, or standings.

⚠️ Group standings recomputed — This will rebuild group standings.

Click Save anyway to confirm and apply your changes.

Step 5: Assign Members to Groups

If you selected "Commissioner assigns groups":

Click Manage group members.

This opens a list of all entrants where you can:

  • Search entrants by handle

  • Filter to Show only ungrouped entrants

  • Use the dropdown next to each entrant to set their group to (no group), Group 1, Group 2, Group 3, etc.

Save your changes once everyone is assigned.

If you selected "Entrants may/must choose a group":

Entrants will see a prompt on their My Entries tab:

Choose a group before making picks
Groups are a better way to organize players.

Choose a group prompt on My Entries tab

Clicking Choose group opens a dropdown where the entrant selects their group and confirms. If the mode is set to "may choose," entrants can dismiss this prompt and stay ungrouped. If set to "must choose," they'll need to pick a group before submitting picks.
