Permission and Access Audit Logs

Written by Glenn Jones

Permission Audit Log

The Permission Audit Log tracks every change made to user roles and permissions β€” including who made the change, when it happened, and the outcome. This makes it easy to see exactly who has access to your database and what data they can view or edit.

Accessing the Permission Audit Log

To access the audit log, navigate to Admin > Users, Roles & Permissions > Permission Audit Log.

If this option is not displayed to you, there are two potentials reasons why:

  • Your User Role does not include the View Access Audit Log permission

  • The Permission Audit Log product is not active in your system - please contact the Support Team to activate the audit log

Understanding the Permission Audit Log

The permission audit log is displayed as a grid and tracks every permission change applied once the product became active in your system.

Within the grid you'll be able to see:

  • The date of the change

  • Who made the change

  • Which Users were affected by the change

  • The affected User Type

  • Whether the change was made to a Permission Group, Field Access or Data Access

  • The type of change - Updated or Removed

  • The Change Type

  • The Permission, Field or Data change itself

    • This displays what it was changed to only, it does not capture the previous state

As default, the audit log will store changes for up to 60 days. To extend this, please contact your Eploy account manager.

Access Audit Log

Accessible via Admin > Users, Roles & Permissions > Access Audit Log, the Access Audit Log displays a log of all login related events across all areas of your Eploy system.

Displayed as a grid view, for each login event you'll be able to see:

  • The attempt date

  • IP Address of the device where the attempt was made

  • Audit Type

  • Endpoint

  • API Error Type

  • Error Message

  • User

  • Candidate

  • API Key used

πŸ€“ Tip the audit log also includes any logins made by the Eploy Support Team, so you can easily identify where a member of our support team has accessed your system to provide support.
