If you receive a receipt in the body of an email or as an attachment, you can simply forward the message to oma@etasku.fi. eTasku will recognize your email address and automatically assign the receipt to your account, saving it under the current date. Supported attachment formats include PDF and JPG.
To ensure the receipt is linked to your account, you must send it from the same email address you used to register with eTasku. If you want to send receipts from a different email address, you’ll find instructions for adding additional addresses at the end of this guide.
Step-by-step: Forwarding a receipt from email
1. Open the receipt email
The receipt may be attached or embedded in the email (e.g. HTML format).
2. Forward the email
This feature is often found in the message details (as shown in Gmail) or next to the reply button.
3. Send the receipt to oma@etasku.fi
Make sure you send the message from the same email address you’ve used to log in to eTasku, or from one of the addresses you’ve added to the list of approved forwarding addresses in eTasku (you’ll find instructions for this at the end of this article).
4. You’ll receive a confirmation email
If you don’t get a confirmation, double-check that you sent the message from a recognized email address. (In eTasku, either as your username or added separately to the oma@etasku.fi list).
5. The receipt appears in eTasku
It will be saved under the date it was forwarded. You can edit the receipt details as usual.
It’s currently possible to add the following details directly when submitting a receipt: Place of purchase, Price, VAT, and Additional information. Here’s how it works in practice:
Header: Enter the place of purchase here (e.g. Prisma)
Text field: Add the other receipt details on separate lines. See the example below.
Price: 55
VAT: 24
Notes: Coffee for the office
Other things to consider:
To ensure the system places the information in the correct fields, each line in the text field must include a so-called header (e.g. price), followed by the value, such as 55. You can separate the 'header' and the value with a colon, as shown in the example, but it’s not required. The formatting doesn’t matter otherwise, as long as the headers match those used in the eTasku web portal and mobile app.

How to add additional email addresses
Log in to the eTasku web portal at www.etasku.fi/login
Click "User details" in the top right corner
Select the "oma@etasku.fi" tab
Enter the additional email addresses and click "Save"
You’ll receive a confirmation email—follow the link to verify the new address
The addresses you just entered have now been linked to your user account, and you can send receipts from these addresses to oma@etasku.fi. eTasku will automatically route the receipts to your account.
