The Group Pace Report gives hotels a glance at the blocked or pickup (actual) room nights entered in the system for a selected date range. This report compares room numbers, revenue, and ADR on the books against what you have in your budget, what you booked last year, Pickup (actuals) last year, and variance to last year’s actuals.
This report is helpful for forecasting and determining if the team is on target to meet the budget.
How to Use The Group Pace Report
With this report, you can increase the chances of meeting/exceeding the budget. You can predict the months upcoming in which you will need to define strategies to ensure that you do not fall short of that budget. Since the Report is also broken up by Market Segment, special efforts can be put towards those segments that may be falling behind.
The Group Pace Report will allow you to determine if the actualized revenue for past months has met and/or exceeded budget.
It will allow you to analyze past months to determine their impact on the yearly budget.
You can utilize information found in the Variance to LY (last year) column as a measuring instrument to decide if booking pace is behind or ahead of last year's budget. The historical data will help determine if the team is on track to meet the current year's budget.
The Group Pace Report is ideal for understanding booking patterns. These patterns can include but are not limited to: determining which months are your peak booking months, which quarter shows the largest revenue intake, and which months are the slowest.
How to Use Group Pace Report
Click on Reports in the left navigation tab
Click on Group Pace
Optional: Adjust your Filters
Year / Booking Status / Market Segments
Click Export As
Select HTML or PDF
Select "Click here to download file"
Important Considerations about the Group Pace Report
Nights Column - this column will display either Pickup or Blocked depending on your Group's date.
Groups with a departure date in the past
with Pickup values exceeding 0 will display the Pickup values
with no Pickup will include the Blocked values
Groups with a departure date in the future will display the Blocked values.
Pickup (Actuals) only includes actuals from Groups that are Definite.
The budget must be entered into the system to display variances.
Currently the Group Pace can only be exported into HTML or PDF. If you prefer to work in a spreadsheet, it is possible to copy the contents from the HTML & paste it into an excel/csv document.
