How can you manage seats on Expandi?
The license (subscription) on Expandi is based on seats, the number of seats. This means that the owner of the user account (and its Workspace) can purchase additional seats for LinkedIn accounts, see the number of seats available, add or remove them, and easily swap the LinkedIn accounts connected to the seat (transfer seat).
1 subscription created on Expandi can have multiple seats in it;
The price on Expandi is per seat;
1 seat can be connected to (used for) one LinkedIn account at a time;
Disconnecting a seat from a LinkedIn account doesn't cancel the seat (you would still need to pay for it). The seat has to be removed following the steps here.
Transferring seats can be useful because, for example, you had a LinkedIn account connected to one of the seats, but it got restricted, and you are not able to use it anymore. In this case, you could simply disconnect the seat from this LinkedIn account and add it to another LinkedIn account that is not restricted. This is also applicable when your employee quits the company or the account has a temp_name (is not fully synced), and you are not able to use it.
Also, users who have many LinkedIn accounts can have multiple subscriptions and easily arrange different billing cycles for groups of their LinkedIn accounts by connecting the LinkedIn account under the subscription of their choice.
Keep in mind that the price depends on the number of seats purchased (it does not matter if they are connected to any LinkedIn account or not). This applies to all Expandi users and our partners who use the Stripe payment processing platform.
Workspaces and subscriptions | FAQ
I created two workspaces on Expandi. Can I manage subscriptions for both workspaces in one place?
Every workspace created on Expandi has its own Subscriptions and payments page.
There is no place on Expandi where you can find subscriptions from all workspaces that you own displayed on one page.
Can I transfer seats (subscriptions) between multiple workspaces that I own and LinkedIn accounts added there?
Seats can only be transferred in the same workspace and between LinkedIn accounts that are added there. You won't be able to transfer a seat from a LinkedIn account added under one of your workspaces to the LinkedIn account added under another workspace.
Can a workspace member or admin access my payments and subscription page?
No, only the owner of the workspace (the person who created it) can access subscription-related information.

Where to find the Subscriptions & Payments page for each of my workspaces?
Please see the video below for the steps and explanation:
How to create a new subscription?
Please see the video below for the steps:
In your workspace, click on the Subscriptions & Payments menu option:
Click on the Create a new subscription button:
Select the plan, the number of seats you'd like to purchase with this subscription, add your bank card details, your billing address, and click on the Create card and pay button:
Now it will take a few minutes for the new subscription to be created and for the payment to be processed:
The next step (optional) would be to invite your teammates to your workspace. You can do it now, or you can skip this step for now and do it later:
Your new subscription is created now!
How to add/remove active seats?
Please see the video below for the steps:
Open the workspace in which you'd like to add/remove seats. To do that, go to the User menu and select the workspace you wish to open by clicking on it:
On the right side menu, click on the Subscriptions & Payments menu option:
In the Subscriptions & Payments section, you can find all created subscriptions and seats purchased for them. As well as the price, the next billing, etc..
To add/remove the number of seats under a subscription, you need to click on the 3 dots button and select the option Edit amount of seats:
A pop-up window will appear where you can change the number of seats for the subscription (increase or reduce the current number you see) and click on the Save changes button to apply changes:
Why can I not reduce the number of seats on the subscription?
You will only be able to remove the seat (subscription) from your Expandi account if there are no LinkedIn accounts connected to that active seat (subscription) you are trying to remove.
For example, if you have 2 active seats and both of them are connected to LinkedIn accounts, you would not be able to reduce the number of seats, unless you disconnect one of the seats from a LinkedIn account it is currently connected to. Please see a video demonstration (tutorial) of such a scenario and how to resolve this below:
How to disconnect the seat from a LinkedIn account and remove that seat from a subscription?
Please see the steps in the video below:
In your workspace, click on the Subscriptions & Payments menu option:
Click on the 3 dots button and select the option Go to subscription page:
In the subscriptions page, under the Active seats tab, find the LinkedIn account that you wish to disconnect the seat for and click on the 3 dots button next to it:
Select the option Remove from subscription:
A pop-up window will appear informing you if there are any active campaigns at the moment under the LinkedIn account you wish to disconnect the seat from. To disconnect the seat from a LinkedIn account, click on the Remove button. In the same window, you can also transfer the seat to another LinkedIn account by clicking on the Transfer subscription option instead.
Once you click on the Remove button, you'll see that an active seat was disconnected from a LinkedIn account, and it's inactive now. As per the example below, there are no more LinkedIn accounts connected to an active seat under the Active seats tab, it's empty now:
Now the next step would be to remove that seat from the subscription itself (if you're not planning to use that seat for another LinkedIn account). To remove the seat from the subscription, click on the Edit button:
In the pop-up window, reduce the number of seats. In this case, since the seat was disconnected from one LinkedIn account, we will be reducing the number of seats by one seat. Once it's done, click on the Save changes button to apply changes to the number of seats. In the example below, we're changing the number of seats from 3 to 2:
Now the seat is also removed from the subscription. These would be the steps to disconnect a seat from a LinkedIn account, as well as remove the seat from the subscription.
How to transfer (replace) the seat from the current LinkedIn account to a different one?
Keep in mind that you will only be able to transfer seats from one LinkedIn account to another if they are added under the same workspace. Seat transferring between LinkedIn accounts added under different workspaces on Expandi is not possible.
Please see the video below on how to transfer (replace) a seat from one LinkedIn account to another:
In your workspace, click on the Subscriptions & Payments menu option:
Click on the 3 dots button and select the option Go to subscription page:
In the subscriptions page, under the Active seats tab, find the LinkedIn account that you wish to transfer the seat from (keep in mind once you transfer the seat from a LinkedIn account that LinkedIn account won't have an active subscription anymore and won't be accessible) and click on the 3 dots menu next to it:
Select the option Transfer subscription:
A pop-up window will appear where you'll have to select a LinkedIn account to which the seat should be transferred. Keep in mind that only LinkedIn accounts that do not have an active subscription at the moment will appear in the list. You can use the search field to look for the account by entering its LinkedIn email address. Once you find the account, click on it to select:
Click on the Replace button to save the changes:
The seat has now been transferred from one LinkedIn account to another!
How to connect a LinkedIn account to an available active seat or a voucher code?
Please see the video below on how you can connect a LinkedIn account to an active seat:
Click on the All LinkedIn accounts button:
Find a LinkedIn account that you wish to activate (connect an active seat to). Make sure that it's the one without an active subscription at the moment. Once you locate the LinkedIn account, click on the No subscription button:
When you click on it, you'll be taken to the LinkedIn settings of that account, the 'Disconnect LinkedIn Account' section. Now, click on the +Add a seat for this account button:
A pop-up window will appear where you'll be able to see all the subscriptions you created and the available seats in them. Select the one that has available seats, so that one of the seats can be connected to the LinkedIn account. Then click on the Activate seat button. If you have a voucher code, it can be added in the 'Invitation code' field:
The active seat is connected to a LinkedIn account successfully now!
How to connect a LinkedIn account to an active seat if there are no available seats under the subscription?
Please watch the video below for the steps:
Click on the All LinkedIn accounts button:
Find a LinkedIn account that you wish to activate (connect an active seat to). Make sure that it's the one without an active subscription at the moment. Once you locate the LinkedIn account, click on the No subscription button:
When you click on it, you'll be taken to the LinkedIn settings of that account, the 'Disconnect LinkedIn Account' section. Now, click on the +Add a seat for this account button:
A pop-up window will appear where your subscription will be displayed. If you currently have no available seats under the subscription, you'll see that the subscription displayed says 0 available seats:
This means that you can only activate this LinkedIn account by adding an additional seat under this subscription, so you'll have 1 available seat that could be used for the LinkedIn account.
To add an additional seat under the subscription, click on the + button:
Adjust the number of seats. Since we're trying to activate one LinkedIn account, we'll be increasing the number of seats from 3 to 4. Once it's done, click on the Save changes button to apply the changes to the subscription:
After that, you'll see that now you have 1 available seat under the subscription. Select the subscription and click on the Activate seat button to connect the seat to a LinkedIn account:
The seat is added to a LinkedIn account now, and it's active!
How can you choose/apply an existing seat when adding a new LinkedIn account?
Please watch the video below for the steps:
Follow the steps to add a new LinkedIn account here.
On the subscription activation step, you will see your active subscription and available seats under it. Select that subscription and click on the Activate seat button. If you have a voucher code, it can be added in the 'Invitation code' field:
Now the new LinkedIn account has an active seat connected, and is active!
How to add a voucher (invitation) or a discount code to a new subscription?
A voucher (invitation) or a discount code can be added to a subscription whenever you create a new subscription on Expandi. You will not be able to apply a discount code to an already-created subscription.
When you follow the steps here to create a new subscription under your workspace, you will notice on the right side of the screen that there's a 'Code' section (field) where you can enter your voucher (invitation) code or a coupon (discount code).
Select the plan and enter your voucher (invitation) or a coupon/discount code in the 'Code' field, and only then click on the 'Confirm' or 'Create card and pay' button. If you're entering a discount code (not a voucher code), you will also need to provide other details, such as bank card information, billing address, etc..
The discount code will be applied to all seats added under this new subscription.
If you entered a voucher code and clicked on the 'Confirm' button, the next step will be to add a LinkedIn account that'll be connected to the voucher code you entered. In such a case, you're not creating a new subscription, you're just adding a voucher code for a new LinkedIn account.
What to do if you had canceled your subscription before and want to activate a subscription and connect an active seat for the same LinkedIn account again?
Once the subscription (and all seats in it) is canceled on Expandi on the Subscription & Payments page, the subscription status will appear as canceled, and you will not be able to re-activate the same subscription. It's not possible if it's been canceled.
In such a case, the only way to have an active subscription again (and seats under it) is by creating a new subscription on Expandi, purchasing seats in it, and then connecting the seat(s) to your LinkedIn account(s).
Follow the steps here to create a new subscription.
Once the new subscription is created, the steps described here should be followed to activate a LinkedIn account by connecting an active seat from a new subscription.
Once the above is done, your LinkedIn account will be active again, and you can continue using Expandi!
How to cancel a subscription and all active seats under it?
Please see the video below for the steps:
On the right side menu, click on the Subscriptions & Payments menu option:
Find the subscription you'd like to cancel and click on the 3 dots button next to it:
Select the option Cancel subscription:
If you have any LinkedIn accounts connected to the active seats under this subscription, the system will inform you about them and ask you if you still wish to cancel the subscription, what to do in that case is shown in the video here.
If you do not have any LinkedIn accounts connected to active seats under this subscription, select the reason why you wish to cancel and click on the Unsubscribe button:
If your subscription was canceled successfully, you'll see the status of it as 'Canceled':
