Updating Shift Hours on a Daily Basis

Written by EZTIME SUPPORT

Overview

There are times when you need to adjust shift hours for a specific day — for example, during an unexpected event, a surge in demand, or when you need to shorten a shift without changing the permanent shift settings.

EZTime allows you to do this at two levels:

  • Updating hours for a specific role within a shift — for example, changing only the waitstaff hours on a given day

  • Updating hours for all shifts across an entire day — for example, shortening all shifts on a given day at once

Method 1 — Update Hours for a Specific Role Within a Shift

Step 1 — Open the Shift Settings

Click the shift settings button in the day panel you would like to update.

Step 2 — Set Different Hours for the Role

The window that opens will display all roles assigned to the shift. Check "Set Different Hours" next to the relevant role and enter the new start and end times.

The change will apply only to that role on that day, without affecting the permanent shift settings.

Method 2 — Update Hours for All Shifts Across an Entire Day

Step 1 — Open the Day Menu

Click the three dots in the day header (next to the date).

Step 2 — Select the Relevant Option

In the menu that opens, select "Batch change time on this date".

Step 3 — Set the New Hours

In the window that opens, enter the new start and end times. The change will apply to all shifts on that day.
