Add a Contact for a Child in Your Setting
Before adding a contact for a child, it's a good idea to make sure you've got access to that contact's full name and email address. To add a contact:
Head to a child's profile and click on the Family tab
Click Add contact
Add this contact's Name, Email, and Phone number
Then assign them a role. See role descriptions in this article, below. You can choose Don't invite if you want to add a role later on.

π‘ When you invite parents to Famly, they'll receive a welcome email. The email will look like this:
Dear [Your name],
[Your child's site] uses the Famly system to keep you and your family updated. You will be able to receive pictures of your child, important notices, information about events, and much more. You will also be able to register if your child has the day off or is ill.

This welcome email is the default email for inviting parents and cannot be edited in your Settings. If you'd like to send parents documents upon inviting them, you can do this through the Newsfeed. Alternatively, if they need to accept Terms and Conditions or a Privacy Policy, for example, you can attach documents to a permission using the Parental permissions feature.
Roles of children's contacts
Description of contact roles that you can choose from:
The parent role
The parent role has access to everything regarding the child. Photos, posts, private messages, invitations and the profile of the child. If you allow this in the app, parents can also add other contacts.
The family role
Those with the 'family' role can view posts to the News Feed, but cannot view the activity feed or previously 'tagged' photos, view or contribute observations, or edit any of the child's information. This role is often assigned to Grandparents or other family members, and has no access to the child's profile, like the parent role login.
The pick-up only role
This role has no login, so this contact has no access to the app.
Emergency contacts
Any Parent or Family contact can be marked as an emergency contact for a child. To do so, head to the child's profile, click on Contacts, select a contact and click Edit. Now, scroll down to the Emergency contact section ad check the box to tick it. Remember to save your changes when you're ready!
Emergency contacts will be highlighted with a red asterisk next to their name:
Bill-payers
You can add a bill payer to a child's profile without them being a contact. Find out about adding a bill payer here.
Invoice recipients
A child's contact can be an invoice recipient without being a bill payer. Find out about adding an invoice recipient here.
Allowing Parents to Add Other Contacts
If you choose, contacts with a Parent role can also add additional contacts to their child, and invite them to Famly. To do this:
Click on Settings in your sidebar
Click on Parents
Then click on Login options and toggle on Parents' invitation rights

A new window will open (as below) where you will need to assign this contact a role. You can choose from:

How do I Remove login, or delete a Child's Contact?
Removing a contact's login as well as deleting a contact person in your Famly platform is done from a child's profile.
Removing the login of a child's contact person
Enter the profile of the child to whom the contact belongs.
Click the Family tab and find the contact person whose log-in you want to remove
Scroll down to the Email row (in the contact information) and select Remove Login
π‘ You can re-instate the contact's log-in by simply clicking send log-in and choosing the appropriate role.
When a user's last role is deactivated, the user is logged out from all devices, and they can no longer log in. Parents with children who have left their setting will still be able to access Famly as long as their role has not been revoked.
Deleting a child's contact person
Enter the profile of the child to whom the contact belongs
Click the Family tab and find the contact person whose log-in you want to remove
Click Edit on the right-hand side of the contact's profile
Scroll right down to the bottom of the page and click Delete
