Where to find Accident and Incident Reports

  • Log into Famly and click on Children

  • Select Safeguarding

  • Select Accidents

You can also find accident and incident reports in the Reports tab on an individual child's profile if you're looking for a specific child's records.

How to create an Accident or Incident Report

You can create a new accident or incident report from the Reports tab on a child's profile, or the Accidents section in Safeguarding, by clicking on New.

Next, fill out the form to describe the nature of the accident:

Clicking Next will lead you to the body map. Here you can:

  • Mark a dot on the location of the injury on the body

  • Adjust the size of the dot, move it around or delete it

  • Make multiple dots

  • Choose a full body view, side view or a close-up of the head

As your final step, review your report on the next page before notifying contacts.

πŸ’‘ Once you click Confirm then Okay, the child's contact will receive a notification. They will be able to view and acknowledge the accident by pressing the Acknowledge Accident button.

If parents do not acknowledge a form, they will receive a reminder to do so once a day for a week, starting the day after the accident form was sent to them. After the first week goes by, they will receive notifications to acknowledge the report:

  • Weekly (once every week), and

  • After 30 days, monthly for 3 months

You can print accident or incident reports by going to the Safeguarding tab on the child's profile, clicking the three dots on the relevant report and selecting Print.

How do I record injuries that happened at home?

You can also use accident and incident reports to note accidents at home. There are two ways to do this:

Recording an existing injury with an Accident or Incident report

  • Open the Safeguarding section and select the Accidents

  • Click New

  • Select whether this is an Accident or Incident from the Kind drop-down menu

  • Check the Noticed on arrival box

  • And add a new location option called Home (Home is just an example, you can choose a term that works best for your center!)

Recording existing injuries by using a specific location (such as Home) means you can then filter the report for this location:

How do I get an overview of Accidents and Incidents in my center?

In the Accidents section in Safeguarding, you can see a record of all previous reports in your center. On the lefthand side, you can filter by:

  • Date

  • Location

  • Child's name

  • Who reported the accident or incident

  • Whether the report is of an incident or an accident

Download your accident forms

  • Filter by date range, location, child, and reported by

  • Show Incidents and/or Accidents

  • Select Download as CSV

Delete an accident form

  • Head to the child's profile

  • Go to the Safeguarding tab

  • Click the 3 little dots in the corner of the form you wish to delete

  • Click delete
