What are Mix & Match bundles?
Mix & match bundles are a bundle type in which a selection of items are offered together, and customers can pick a certain number of items from the list of products in order to receive fixed or tiered discounts.
Mix & match bundles can be a great way to increase average order value by offering discounts on a variety of items when they are bought together. This type of bundle gives customers the freedom to choose items they like, and they are not restricted to buy certain products. You can offer mix & match bundles with a percentage discount (a percentage of the total deducted), fixed discount (a fixed sum deducted from the total), a set price (a total for the bundle as a whole), free shipping, free gifts, and even with no discount.
This type of bundle can be added as a widget to the main product page:
And it can be displayed as a separate product (Bundle as Product or BAP):
Here is how a mix & match bundle is displayed and added to the cart:
Discounts can be offered in several ways with mix & match bundles, and the bundle appearance and what the customers can choose in order to receive the discounts can be of varying types.
If you create a “Tiered discount” mix & match bundle and add specific products to choose from, the bundle will look like the following. The list of products can be a limited list of products or a collection. Customers will then be able to buy from this selection and if they choose the number of items you have defined, they will receive discounts accordingly.
If you create a “Single discount” mix & match bundle, you can define different sections or groups of items, and customers have to buy a required number of items from each section in order to receive discounts. The products in each section can be a limited list or a large collection. The bundle will look like the following:
If you apply the Mix and Match bundle discount to specific sections only, you can define certain sections from which customers have to pick items in order to get a free gift or discount on the items in another section. The bundle will look like the bundle below:
Finally, with Fast Bundle, you can create bundle builders for your mix & match bundles. This is an amazing way to showcase your bundle in an eye-catching design and increase orders.

What are some ways to promote Mix & Match bundles?
1. For your Bundle as Product page to appear more like a product, it is recommended for the BAP picture to be a picture of all of the included products together, instead of a carousel of the included products shown separately.
2. You can add all of your BAPs or bundles to a page and add the link of the page to your navigation bar. To learn more, please click here.
3. You can add all of your BAPs to a collection and feature that collection on your home page.
4. You can feature a BAP on your home page to increase views of the bundle.
5. You can change the URL to your BAP pages in order to have a positive impact on your SEO. For more information on how to do this, please click here.
6. You can create a bundle builder for your Mix & Match bundle and promote the bundle builder on your home page.

Creating a Tiered Discount Mix & Match Bundle
Our Tiered Discount Mix and Match bundle is a tiered discount system that lets you create a bundle of products with up to three customizable discount options. Customers receive larger discounts based on pre-defined item thresholds within specific ranges. For example, you can set a discount of 30% for buying between 2 and 5 items. This allows flexibility in pricing and encourages customers to purchase more items to receive greater discounts.

You can check out our Tiered Discount BAP (bundle as a product) page on our demo store. Also, see the bundle widget on the included product page, and how the Tiered Discount works with a Bundle Builder.
How do I create a "Tiered Discount Mix and Match" Bundle?
To create a "Tiered Discount Mix and Match" bundle, please follow these steps:
1. Click on "Create new bundle."
Click on the "Create new bundles" button on the Home page of the Fast Bundle or Bundles tab to open the bundle creation menu.
2. Choose Bundle Type
Choose the "Mix & match" bundle type.
3. Add sections
Sections are just a bunch of products chosen to be displayed together but separate from others in the same bundle. One advantage of being separated from other sections is that you can set rules for each section, which we'll discuss further in this article.
Simply click on the "Add section" button
Once you click on it, the following pop-up window will open:
Here, you can either select from the list of "products" on your shop to turn them into a section. We sometimes refer to them as "Manual collections" since they are not collections created on your shopify backend and only exist within our app.
Or you can click on "Collections" and choose from the list of collections you have already created in your Shopify>Products>Collections:
Please note that you can select as many products as you like from the list of "Products", but can only choose one collection per section from the "Collections".
Also, if you have recently installed the app and can't see some of the products or collections (or if you see a collection but with a few products missing from it) or just added a new one that's not on the list, there's nothing to worry about. The information might just not be synced as fast as you might expect.
It's an automatic process, but in rare cases, depending on the number of collections and products included in them, it takes a bit longer than usual to be synced. The good news is that we're always here for you 24/7 if you need it, and we would be more than happy to help you with that.
All you have to do is reach out to our support team, and the agents will take action to ensure that all collections or products are synced manually through our app.
If you've decided to select from the list of products, after the selection process, the following window will open for you to let you name the section and, if you like, add a small image for it.
4. Choose a Bundle Structure and Discount type:
At this step, you can choose the Tiered Discount or the Single Discount
We chose the second option since we are about to create a Single Discount.
5. Set Discount Options
In this section, you can define up to 3 discount options by specifying the required number of items and selecting the discount type.
I. Discount types you can offer in the Tiered discount bundle:
The Tiered discount bundle allows you to choose from the following discount types:
Percentage discount: A percentage of the total bundle price is deducted as a discount. For example, 10% off the total price of the bundle.
Fixed discount: A specific, fixed amount is deducted from the total bundle price. For example, $5 off the total price.
Cheapest item free: The lowest-priced item in the customer’s selection is offered for free.
Free shipping: Shipping costs are waived for the bundle purchase.
No discount: The bundle is offered without any price reduction or special offer.
Set price: The bundle is offered at a fixed total price, regardless of the sum of the individual product prices.
⚠️ Important note:
If "Allow users to buy extra items with this discount option" is enabled, it is not possible to choose "Set price" as the discount option.
II. Set a range (optional)
You can also set a "Range" for each option, meaning that buying a number of items within that range will result in the specified discount.
III. Allow customers to buy extra items with the last discount option and get the discount.
You can also offer this option's discount to your customers who buy more than the specified number of items by selecting "Allow users to buy extra items with this discount option."
You can activate this feature for the discount option for most items. However, you won't be able to set a range for that discount option, and as said before, you can not have a set price.
6. Details section
In the Details section, you can assign an internal name to the bundle in the Name field, which will only be displayed in the Fast Bundle admin panel.
A Bundle as a Product (BAP) will be created for fixed bundles by default. You can disable this feature if you prefer by clicking on the "Disable product creation" button.
Assign a title to your bundle, then add a subtitle, description, and media:
7. Choose How You Want Your Bundle to Appear in the Cart and Checkout
Since a product will be created by default, you have two options for showing it in the cart and checkout. This document explains the differences between the two.
8. Choose How You Want Your Bundle to be Displayed.
In this step, you can check the "Show the bundle widget on all included products page" option to choose whether you want your bundle displayed on the included products page.
9. Set start and end time
You can set start and end times for the bundle if you wish.
10. Don't Forget to Save
Tap the "Save" button to have your product mix and match bundle.
After saving the bundle, you can change the bundle status, edit it as a product in the Shopify admin, and view it in the store on the top right of the page.
Create a Single Discount Mix and Match Bundle

(Just as a reference)
Please note that you can select as many products as you like from the list of "Products", but can only choose one collection per section from the "Collections".
Also, if you have recently installed the app and can't see some of the products or collections (or if you see a collection but with a few products missing from it) or just added a new one that's not on the list, there's nothing to worry about. 4. Choose a Bundle Structure and Discount type:
At this step, you can choose the Tiered Discount or the Single Discount
We chose the left option since we are about to create a Single Discount.
You can also choose the discount type from a percentage discount, Fixed amount of discount, Set price, Free shipping, or No discount at all.
5. Set rules for each section
Once the sections are added properly (You can add as many sections as you like), you'll have to set a rule for each section that the customers will have to follow to be able to add the bundle.
You can begin by simply clicking on either the "Change rules" button or the text that states the section's rule below each section:
Then, a pop-up window will open for you to change the rules:
By default, this rule for all sections is to add "Exact quantity" of 1 from that section.
You can change the rule to either a "Minimum quantity", "Range quantity (Like 2-5)", or even "No requirement (Optional selection)", meaning your customers can either add from that section or decide not to and ignore it.
Then you add a description for each section that tells the customers the rule for that section.
6. Choose how to distribute the discount:
Only when you've added more than one section will you be able to decide whether the discount should be distributed to all items in the bundle or just to those from a specific section. (To make it look like a Buy X Get Y deal)
Once you choose "Apply discount to specific sections only" and click on "select sections", the following pop-up window will open to let you select:
After which, the display of the bundle widget will be slightly different. Please take a look at the image to spot the difference:
(Apply discount to all)
(Apply discount to specific sections)

9. Choose How You Want Your Bundle to be Displayed.
In this step, you can check the "Show the bundle widget on all included products page" option to choose whether you want your bundle displayed on the included products page.
Also, you can choose from displaying the bundle through the Inline block or Bundle Builder pop-up.
Remember that the Bundle builder pop-up only works if you have not selected a collection as your included products.
10. Set start and end time
You can set start and end times for the bundle if you wish.
11. Don't Forget to Save
Tap the "Save" button to have your product mix and match bundle.
After saving the bundle, you can change the bundle status, edit it as a product in the Shopify admin, and view it in the store on the top right of the page.
