🐰All of the items in the bundle are in stock. Why does the bundle show "Inventory not tracked" in the Shopify panel?

Inventory not tracked. Explaining why you see this in Shopify when you create a product with your bundles.

Updated this week

When you make a product from a bundle (known as a Bundle as A Product), you may see "Inventory not tracked" in Shopify for the product created

We'll explain why this is.

Multi BAP and Cart Transform BAP type:

There are three types of settings for the Bundle as A Product. Single BAP, Multi BAP, and Cart Transform

If the bundle is not a Simple Bundle, and you've configured it to be added to the cart either as its individual included products or as separate line items connected to those products (as shown in the image below), then you’re using what we refer to as a Multi BAP or Cart Transform setup.

The Multi BAP and Cart Transform generate a dummy product

When you have a Multi BAP or Cart Transform, the product created in Shopify is a placeholder product or a dummy product that will not actually ever be added to the cart and bought.
Instead, the individual products in the bundle will be added to the cart and placed in the order.

Don't worry! The inventory of items in the bundle is tracked.

Since the actual products are getting added to the cart, the inventory of the individual items will be correctly updated. However, the inventory of the dummy product itself cannot be tracked.

That's why you see the "Inventory not tracked" in front of the bundle as a product name with the mentioned settings above in the Shopify panel > Products.

So to sum up, you can be sure that the inventory of the products in the bundle will be automatically and correctly handled. If you encounter any issues, contact support.
