Almost every Fernwayer Experience is private.
Where an Experience isn't, you can usually still book it privately if you'd like. Each Experience page shows which type it is, right next to the price.
Private Experiences
The large majority of Fernwayer Experiences are private. When you book, the Experience is yours alone — just you and whoever you're traveling with. No one else joins, and the Experience Maker's attention is entirely on your party.
This is the heart of how Fernwayer works: intimate, personal, and built around you and your companion/s.
Shared with private option
Some Experiences are labeled Shared with private option — which means you can choose how to book. The page shows two prices:
Shared (per person) — book your own spot, and you may be joined by a few other travelers, up to the group maximum. Often the most affordable way in, and a nice choice if you enjoy meeting others on the road.
Private (per group) — reserve the whole session just for your party, at the group price shown. No one else joins.
For example, an Experience might show €200 per person (shared) and €600 per group (private) — so you can pick the shared option where you might join others for €200 each, or have the evening entirely to yourselves for €600. The choice is yours and it can be made on the Experience page.
Shared Experiences
A small number of Experiences are shared only, without a private option. These are usually tied to annual festivals or special events with limited dates, where sharing the day with a few others is part of the occasion. Depending on who else books, you might be among a small group — or it may turn out to be just you. Shared Experiences can be booked for a single person.
How to tell which is which
Every Experience page shows its type — Private, Shared with private option, or Shared — along with the price for each way of booking. You'll always know exactly what you're getting, and what it costs, before you confirm.
