What if the date or time I want isn't available?

FOR TRAVELERS: What to do when the date or time you'd like isn't showing on the calendar for an Experience.

Sometimes the Experience you want doesn't show the date or time you're hoping for.

Most often, this is because the Experience Maker doesn't run that Experience on that day in their usual schedule, or they're already committed to another booking.

If there's no conflicting booking and their schedule can be adjusted, it can sometimes be arranged — just reach out to Fernwayer Support, and we'll check with the Experience Maker.

First, how the calendar works

When you open an Experience and click Book, the calendar shows the dates the Experience Maker has opened for that particular Experience — available dates in black, unavailable ones greyed out. Select a date to see the times offered that day.

If a date or time you want isn't there, it usually falls into one of a few situations — and some can be sorted out.

The date I want isn't on the calendar

An Experience Maker sets their own availability, so a date you'd like may simply not be open for this Experience. If you have a specific date in mind, message Fernwayer Support through Chat — or, if you're not signed in, use Contact Us on the website. We'll check with the Experience Maker to see whether they can open that date for you.

I'd like a different time than the ones shown

The times on the calendar are the ones the Experience Maker offers. Some are fixed — set by the duration, the route, or when a monument or market is open — while others can be adjusted. If you'd prefer a different start time, let us know, and we'll ask the Experience Maker whether it's possible.

The date is closed for automatic bookings

Each Experience closes to automatic bookings a set time before it starts, so the Experience Maker can prepare — lining up tickets, collaborators, and access. If the date you want is too close to that window, the calendar won't let you book it directly. It may still be possible, though: reach out, and if the Experience Maker can prepare and host in time, we can open the booking for you.

It looks fully booked

If the dates you want are already taken, it's worth asking anyway. Depending on their schedule, an Experience Maker may be able to add a session, or arrange for a trusted colleague to host the experience on their behalf.

The short version

Whenever the calendar doesn't show what you're after, and you'd genuinely book it if it were available, message Fernwayer Support through Chat — or Contact Us if you haven't signed in yet — with the Experience, the date, and the time you'd like. We'll check with the Experience Maker and come back to you.

What's possible depends on their availability and the preparation each Experience needs.

One kindness to keep in mind: an Experience Maker will often rearrange their day and call in a few favors to make a date or time request work — all of which means real effort on their side. So please ask only if you're ready to book the Experience should the date open up, at its listed price and in the shape it's designed.
