Once you've booked, a direct line opens between you and your Experience Maker in Fernwayer Chat. It's where everything before the day happens — asking questions, sharing details, and trading a few messages so that, on the day, you're already meeting as friends.
Finding your Chat
Every booking opens a Chat with your Experience Maker, found under the chat bubble icon on both the website and the app. When you have a new message, a small number appears on the chat bubble. Your booking confirmation email also links straight to your Chat.
Keeping your conversation in Fernwayer Chat means it's all in one place, with a clear record you can look back on — and it's a safe place to share anything personal, like details the Experience Maker needs to arrange access.
What's worth sharing
A few notes beforehand give your Experience Maker a sense of who's coming, so your conversation and your day can flow with that in mind. Worth mentioning:
Dietary needs or allergies — anything that affects food or drink. Allergies especially: always tell your Experience Maker.
Mobility, health, or fitness considerations — so the pace and the route can be balanced or adjusted.
Who's coming — this is important if children are accompanying you; the ages of any children, or whether you're traveling as a family.
A special occasion — if you're celebrating something, like a birthday or an anniversary.
What you're hoping for — your interests, or anything you'd especially like to ask about the place or the experience.
Your meeting point if your Experience includes a hotel pickup — share hotel details once you know where you're staying, or your Experience Maker will ask closer to the day. (For Experiences with a fixed meeting point, it's already on the listing — just check under "Where will we meet.")
Ask where the experience ends, if it helps your planning — some Experiences finish somewhere different from where they begin.
Welcome is a two-way thing, and a little conversation beforehand helps build rapport and human connection before you meet — the curiosity and openness you bring tend to be met with more of the same.
It's how you arrive as a guest rather than a stranger.
Before the day
There's no rush to message the moment you book, but a short hello in the days afterward is a good way to start — along with anything from the list above.
Your Experience Maker will also be in touch, about a week before, to reconfirm the meeting point and time and answer any last questions. If they don't hear back, they may follow up — so it's worth keeping an eye on your Chat as the day gets closer.
Before you've booked
Chat with your Experience Maker opens once you book. If you have questions before booking — including help choosing between Experiences — reach out to Fernwayer Support through Chat, or Contact Us if you're not signed in.
