Fernwayer's payment terms are designed to serve both Travelers and Experience Makers fairly.
Travelers commit to their plans early without an immediate charge. As the Experience approaches, you get certainty that the booking is confirmed and paid.
This sits at the heart of Fernwayer's Fair Pricing commitment:
No listing fee — Fernwayer doesn't charge to list your Experience, unlike platforms that require upfront per-product fees
You keep more — Experience Makers receive over 80% of the list price on average, meaningfully more than most experience marketplaces and traditional travel-agent chains
Faster payouts — initiated 48 hours after the Experience, rather than the monthly cycles held for weeks after the tour month closes at many platforms
Full transparency — you always know what the Traveler paid; no confidential markups or black-box, bundled pricing
Payment timing that balances both parties — Travelers commit early without immediate pressure; you get certainty 15 days before the Experience date, and full payout if cancelled within the final 7 days
The standard payment terms
For most Experiences on Fernwayer:
No advance payment at booking. Travelers reserve their spot without any upfront charge.
Full payment is charged 15 days before the Experience. This gives Travelers time to make their plans and gives you assurance that their commitment is real.
Free-cancellation period ends 7 days before the Experience. Travelers can cancel with a full refund up to 7 days out. After that, cancellations are non-refundable and you receive your full payout even if they cancel.

Why the timing works this way
We advise Travelers to book early to secure their preferred Experiences. But asking for payment too far in advance can make Travelers hesitant to commit. Charging 15 days before the Experience is a balance — early enough to confirm the booking is real, late enough that Travelers feel comfortable making the reservation.
One-time events and festivals
For one-time events and festival-based Experiences — where dates are fixed and logistics may require earlier commitment — payment terms are often adjusted at the time of listing setup to confirm the booking earlier and to minimize late cancellations, since last-minute bookings aren't possible on fixed-date events. This is a case-by-case conversation with your Fernwayer contact, based on the specifics of the event.
