After an Experience, Travelers on Fernwayer can leave a rating and a written review.
Reviews reflect the Traveler's perspective — not Fernwayer's — and appear on your Experience page using the Traveler's first name and last initial.
Most reviews on Fernwayer are warm and generous. Reading them is often one of the pleasures of hosting on the platform — the confirmation that what you offered landed, sometimes deeply.
When Travelers are invited to review their Experience, Fernwayer shares with them that a 5-star rating is the standard we aim for. This reflects the level of care Fernwayer puts into curating Experience Makers, and the level of care Experience Makers put into hosting.
You can respond to any review you receive.
Why respond
A good response benefits everyone:
It thanks the Traveler for the time they took to share their experience
It shows future Travelers how you engage with feedback — warmly, thoughtfully, professionally
It closes the loop on the Experience in a way that feels complete
It's part of your presence on Fernwayer — reviews and your responses to them together shape how you come across to future Travelers
You're not required to respond to every review.
Do not mention a company name in your response.
Responding to a mixed or critical review
Fernwayer takes a less-than-5-star review as a signal worth understanding — not because every Experience must be perfect, but because it points to something specific that could be different next time. Reviews like these are as much an opportunity as a challenge: how you respond tells future Travelers as much about you as the review itself does.
Read fully first. Seek to understand what the Traveler is really saying before you write anything. Acknowledge their perspective without immediately defending. Even if you see it differently, they experienced it the way they did.
Take responsibility where warranted. A genuine acknowledgment goes further than a defense.
Keep it short. A calm, honest, brief response reads as confident. Long defensive responses can undermine your case.
Stay warm. Even if the review feels unfair, the response is public — future Travelers are reading.
If a review feels particularly difficult to respond to, message Fernwayer Support in Chat first. We're happy to think through it with you before you post.
When Fernwayer steps in
Fernwayer generally doesn't edit or remove reviews or responses. But we do get involved when:
A review or response contains company name or information as that undermines our platform
A review or response contains language that is discriminatory, threatening, or otherwise violates our platform standards
If any of these apply, message Fernwayer Support in Chat with the details. We'll look into it and get back to you.
A note on ratings
Fernwayer positions the 5-star rating as the standard for every Experience — a signal that the day met the high level of care we all aim for. Occasional lower ratings can happen; a specific day may not land perfectly for a specific Traveler, and Travelers browsing understand this. What matters is the overall picture built up over time, and how each rating is a specific opportunity to appreciate a good day and continue to build upon.
If you'd like to discuss your ratings or reviews at any time, your Fernwayer contact is available for a conversation.
