Speaker Profiles is a beta feature in Fieldy that helps users organize and identify speakers within transcripts. By labeling speakers during your recordings, the system gradually learns their voices and begins recognizing them automatically in future sessions. The more you tag, the smarter the system becomes.
What Are Speaker Profiles?
Speaker Profiles allow users to assign names and colors to speakers in transcripts. Once a speaker is tagged several times, Fieldy starts identifying that speaker automatically in future recordings.
This feature is designed to make transcript management faster and more organized, especially for meetings, interviews, and group discussions where multiple speakers are involved.
Setting Up Your Personal Profile (Voice ID)
Your personal profile is unique because it is linked directly to your voice through Voice ID.
To create your Voice ID profile:
Open the Fieldy app.
Navigate to Settings → Speaker Profiles.
You will see a card displaying your name with a “+ Set Up” button.
Tap Set Up. Make sure your Fieldy device is connected.
Follow the Voice ID recording process by speaking naturally for a few seconds.
Submit the recording to create your profile.
Once the setup is complete, your profile begins learning immediately and will automatically identify you in transcripts. Each account can have only one personal Voice ID profile.
Creating Profiles for Other Speakers
You can also create profiles for other people who appear in your recordings.
To create a profile for another speaker:
Open a transcript.
Tap a speaker label such as “Speaker 1.”
Enter the speaker’s name and choose a color.
As you type, Fieldy will suggest existing profiles if there are matches.
Tap Save to assign the selected transcript lines to that profile.
To improve recognition accuracy, continue tagging additional transcript segments for that person. Over time, the system will learn to recognize them automatically.
You can also view and manage all profiles in Settings → Speaker Profiles, where each profile shows its tagging progress.
Auto-Tagging: How It Works
Each speaker profile includes a progress counter, displayed as something like 2/5.
Once a profile reaches 5 tagged transcript segments, Fieldy activates automatic speaker identification for that person. After that point, you will no longer need to manually tag them.
Your personal Voice ID profile is different — it enables automatic identification immediately after the initial setup. Additionally, Fieldy automatically refines voice profiles over time, improving accuracy and performance without requiring manual intervention.
How Many Profiles Can You Create?
Fieldy does not impose a fixed limit on the number of speaker profiles. Users can create as many profiles as needed, making it suitable for teams, frequent collaborators, or recordings with multiple participants.
Managing Speaker Profiles
Speaker profiles can be managed easily through the app.
Delete a profile
Go to Settings → Speaker Profiles.
Tap the trash icon next to the profile you want to remove.
Deleting a profile is permanent and cannot be undone.
Rename or change a profile color
Open any transcript.
Tap the speaker label assigned to that profile.
Edit the name or color and save the changes.
Transfer transcript lines between profiles
Tap the speaker label in a transcript.
Select a different existing profile to reassign those transcript lines.
Beta Feature Notice
Speaker Profiles is currently in beta, which means the system is still learning and improving. Occasionally, speaker identification may produce unexpected results. Continued tagging and usage will help improve recognition accuracy over time.
