The K688 is muting or unmuting itself without being touched via USB

Setup

1️⃣ Try to test the mic with a laptop or a smartphone.
2️⃣ Use another USB cable with a data transmission function to test the mic.

Interference

1️⃣ Check if the mic mute button syncs with the physical mute button on the keyboard, such as a laptop/PC keyboard, or an external Bluetooth keyboard.
2️⃣ Please keep the mic away from wireless gear, like a wireless mouse or keyboard, by using a boom arm, and test again.
3️⃣ Unplug all other USB peripherals like keyboard, mouse, and other mics to test. Only plug the mic into your computer, and test it with each USB port. Do not use a USB hub or extension cable for the connection of the mic.

Software setting

1️⃣ Check if the mic is muted on your computer; the speaker icon appears red when it is muted.
2️⃣ Go to sound settings- "Sound Control Panel" - "Recording Devices" - set "Fifine microphone" as the default input device - "Properties" - "Levels" - make sure the speaker icon is not in red.
3️⃣ Make sure the computer is in work but not hibernation status (like black screen hibernation).

Grounding

1️⃣ If there is a grounding problem, try to use a 3-prong to 2-prong adapter on one of your power outlets to break the ground loop.

How to fix if the K688 microphone volume is too low?

  1. Try to turn the mic gain from zero to maximum

  2. Speaking into the microphone capsule at a distance of 2-6 inches while recording

  3. Use computer software to enhance your recording level

  4. Plug the mic into another device or test it on different recording software
