How to Place A Wireless Receiver

The Best Placement

Keep the receiver in a place that is visible from where the microphone is being used.

Why Do It:

One of the common problems that causes dropouts is antenna placement.

Some common situations cause dropouts

1. The receiver is put on the rack.

The antennas for the wireless system are buried in the back of or under a rack. Then the metal will reflect the wireless signal.

2. The receiver is in a closet or under a table.

The receiver is not in line of sight with the transmitter in this way. It will compromise the signal that the receiver can pick up.

3. The receiver is so low to the ground.

Being so low to the ground, the signal has to travel through all of the people to get to the receiver, while the human body will have more chances to absorb, interfere with, or absorb it. It also results in compromised reception

4. The receiver is so top-notch at the venues.

Do not think the higher you place the receiver, the better the signal you will get. Because some venues would have metal dropped ceilings. It also affects the signal.

Keep the frequencies steady and suitable

Besides the placement, it is not a wise idea to randomly set or change frequencies. Wireless mics can interfere with each other. If using multiple FIFINE wireless microphones, you had better keep the frequency channels at least 3MHz apart from each other.
