πŸ—‘οΈ Nanowrimo Day 27: High-tower surprise

What to write for NaNoWriMo today, based on the classic 3-act story structure.

Updated over a year ago

This week, your characters are at rock bottom and you have to put them back together again.

What to write today

Today, you're writing the finale. Your characters are in crisis [43,342–45,000 words]:

  • Battle 3 – High-tower surprise: give us a twist where the antagonist turns the tables somehow, putting the protagonist on the back foot.

  • Your protagonist needs to dig deep. They know they will have to make a sacrifice to overcome this challenge.

  • Build tension and excitement as they decide to give it their all.

Want a different sort of prompt? One of your characters gets advice from a completely unreliable source, and are convinced to take it. 🫣

Update your running editorial note

At the end of the day make a note of any off-course deviations, potential inconsistencies, areas to research further, or moments of inspiration to revisit when you edit in December/January.
