First, see our article on the difference between FTP(ES) and SFTP.
https://intercom.help/flatlyio/en/articles/5622664-sftp

Next, try these steps if you are having trouble authorizing FTP(ES) or SFTP:

  1. Check directory permissions -are they writable by your user?

    For example: drwxr-xr-x-

  2. Check the full Directory path including with and without " / "

  3. Check your protocol, are you definitely using SFTP or do you actually want FTP(ES)? They are completely different protocols. Often FTP clients will conceal the protocol from you for the sake of simplicity.

  4. Check your port

  5. Try an IPV4 IP address

  6. Check if your SFTP server responds slowly. Try using a faster server or at least one closer to North America.

  7. For FTP(ES) make sure your connection supports the following:

    1. TLSv1.2

    2. Private Data Connection

    3. Passive Mode

If you are seeing intermittent sync errors, check the following:

  • Check your maximum connections allowed in your SFTP configuration, set it to 100+

  • Check your Firewall and Rate Limiting rules, to allow Flatly to connect frequently and via numerous connections.

If you need to allow-list Flatly's address you can find it here:

35.225.205.185
