Is my data safe when I use integrations?

Written by Shane Jordan

Yes. Integrations are designed so that connecting a marketplace can never cost you the business data you've entered in Flippd — and there are several layers of protection underneath.

The Rules Integrations Follow

  • One-way sync. Flippd reads from eBay; it never creates, edits, or ends listings in your eBay store.

  • Your private fields are off-limits. Cost of goods, storage location, barcode, source, stock number, custom fields, and notes are never written by a sync. See What does eBay sync update?

  • Unmatched listings ask first. On an account with existing inventory, listings that can't be matched go to a review screen instead of being created silently.

  • Exports are read-only. Exporting never changes your data — it's always safe to run, any time.

  • Disconnecting is non-destructive. Unsyncing eBay just stops future syncs; it doesn't delete or undo anything in Flippd or eBay.

The Safety Net Underneath

  • Cloud storage — your data lives on our servers, not your phone; it survives reinstalls and device switches.

  • Automatic scheduled backups, including offsite copies.

  • Rolling 7-day point-in-time recovery — we can restore data to any moment in the past week.

  • Per-item change history — every field an integration changes is logged on the item (Change History > Integrations), so any change is visible and reversible.

Good to Know

  • If anything ever looks wrong after an import, don't bulk-edit or delete — contact support from the ? Help icon in the header first. With the change history and recovery tools, we can put things back exactly as they were.
