All that’s required to run the flytedesk premium digital units is to install this script tag.

Setting up the script tag is really easy and requires no coding experience or knowledge - it's a simple copy and paste. All you need to do is:

  1. Reach out to your account manager and let them know you'd like to run the flytedesk digital units on your website.

  2. Follow the instructions below to install the script tag. The tag can be installed manually or with a plugin for websites supported by WordPress. Please note that you only have to install the script tag via ONE of these options! Choose the option that works best for your website.

*You do not need to install an additional div class tag or adjust any products in your flytedesk media kit.

If you’re manually installing the script tag (recommended for websites that are not hosted by WordPress)

Step 1: Find your flytedesk digital script tag

Every flytedesk publisher has their own unique script tag, which can be found in your flytedesk media kit. To find this script tag:

  1. Navigate to your media kit

  2. Locate and select the medium named “Flytedesk Digital”

  3. Select the “settings” gear icon at the top of either your “Website” property or “Website Collection” collection.

  4. In the settings window, scroll down to the section named “Digital Settings.” Your script tag is located at the top of that section.

Step 2: Add the script tag to your website

Once you’ve located the script tag, add that script tag between the <head></head> tags in the header on your website. If you are familiar with HTML/web editing, inspect the code on these sites for examples of how to embed the header script tag:

Note: If you use SNWorks or TownNews as your website provider, they are aware of this unit and know exactly what to do. You would just need to create a ticket, send them the script tag, and they will set it up for you.

If your website is on WordPress

If your website is built on WordPress, you can use our flytedesk digital WordPress plugin. Please make sure that you only use the flytedesk digital WordPress plugin IF and ONLY IF you have not installed the script tag manually.

Step 1: Find your property UUID

  1. Navigate to your media kit

  2. Locate and select the medium named “Flytedesk Digital”

  3. Select the “settings” gear icon at the top of either your “Website” property or “Website Collection” collection.

  4. In the settings window that appears, scroll down to the section named “Digital Settings”. In that section, you should see a 32-character id labeled “Property ID” - this is the UUID needed to install the WordPress plugin.

For more information about finding your UUID, click here.

Step 2: Install the WordPress plugin

  1. From your WordPress dashboard, open the Plugins menu, search for 'Flytedesk Digital,' and install the plugin.

  2. Open the WordPress Settings menu and select 'Flytedesk.'

  3. Enter the unique 32-character 'UUID' code from your Flytedesk media kit and hit 'Save.'

Note: If you're using SNOSites as your website provider and are having trouble installing this plugin, just contact them for assistance. They are aware of this unit and prepared to help. Also, feel free to loop in your account manager for additional assistance.

Next Steps

After installing the script tag, you should see your website URL listed under the “active domains” section in the same digital settings window where you found your script tag and property UUID.

Once you've installed the script tag, you will not see any ads or significant changes in the layout or your website. Let your account manager know you've completed the installation of the script tag. They will verify that the installation was successful.

Your account manager will reach out to you if troubleshooting is needed.
