Installing The Flytedesk Digital Premium Units

Guide to installing your script tag and running the flytedesk premium digital units.

Written by Publisher Support

All that’s required to run the flytedesk premium digital units is to install this script tag.

Setting up the script tag is easy and requires no coding experience or knowledge - it's a simple copy and paste. All you need to do is:

  1. Reach out to your account manager to get started. They’ll provide your unique script tag code

  2. Place the script tag between the <head></head> section of your website.

*You do not need to install an additional div class tag or adjust any products in your flytedesk media kit.

If you’re manually installing the script tag

Step 1: Request your flytedesk digital script tag

Every flytedesk publisher has a unique script tag for each website installation. To access yours, please connect with your account manager—they’ll provide the correct code and ensure you have everything you need to install it on your site.

Step 2: Add the script tag to your website

Once you’ve copied the script tag, add that script tag between the <head></head> tags in the header on your website. If you are familiar with HTML/web editing, inspect the code on these sites for examples of how to embed the header script tag:

Additional instructions for Wordpress users

If you have a WordPress site, firstly, deactivate the flytedesk WordPress plugin if it’s activated.

Then, install the script tag using following these steps:

1. Go to Appearance > Theme File Editor.

2. Locate the header.php file.

3. Look for the </head> tag.

4. Paste your script anywhere between the opening </head> and the closing </head> tags.

5. Click Update File.

Note: If you use SNWorks or TownNews as your website provider, they are aware of this unit and know exactly what to do. You would just need to create a ticket, send them the script tag, and they will set it up for you.

Next Steps

Once you've installed the script tag, you will not see any ads or significant changes in the layout of your website. Let your account manager know you've completed the installation of the script tag. They will verify that the installation was successful.

Your account manager will reach out to you if troubleshooting is needed.
