Installing the Flytedesk Digital WordPress plugin

If you power your site with WordPress and you want to install Flytedesk Digital, we have a nifty plugin for you.

This article will take you step-by-step through the process of adding a Flytedesk Digital unit via the Flytedesk Digital WordPress plugin (or, watch the video below.)

Step 1: From your WordPress dashboard, open the Plugins menu, search for 'Flytedesk Digital,' and install the plugin.

Step 2: Open the WordPress Settings menu and select 'Flytedesk.'

Step 3: Enter the unique 32-character 'uuid' code from your
โ€‹Flytedesk media kit and hit 'Save.'

The uuid string can be found in your digital property settings. Watch the video below to learn how to find the uuid in your media kit:

Copy the 32-character uuid (or Property ID) from your media kit:

Step 4: Open the WordPress Appearance menu and select 'Widgets.' A new widget type will be available called 'Flytedesk Ad Unit.'

Step 5: Add the Flytedesk Ad Unit widget to the section of your site where you want the ads to be displayed (e.g. header, sidebar, footer).

This step will vary depending on where you choose to add the widget. For help adding widgets, consult WordPress's help center.


Step 6:
For each Flytedesk Ad Unit widget you add, specify an Ad Unit Type in the widget customization menu.

A matching unit in your Flytedesk media kit must be enabled for ads to start serving in the ad widget. For example, a leaderboard product in your media kit must exist for ads to serve into a leaderboard Ad Unit Type.

After Step 6, you're all set! Remnant ads will start showing up in the unit within 24 hours. If we sell a national digital ad for you, those ads will go live automatically after you approve them. You can also sell local ads into the unit via your Ad Shop.

If you encounter any issues installing the plugin, contact your Flytedesk rep for help. If remnant ads aren't showing up after 24 hours, or you're unable to place local or national ads through your unit, consult our digital troubleshooting page.
