What are the specific data differences between a Vendor Product Catalog vs Seller Product Catalog?

In order to review data in the Product Catalog, you must first have connected your marketplace Ads and Product data. Review how to connect your marketplace ads and product data for Amazon and Walmart.

The visibility of certain data within the Product Catalog is slightly different for 1P vendors vs. 3P sellers, but the core functionality of the catalog is the same (to review basics: Intro to Product Catalog); but there are some key differences in calculated/sourced metrics and data visibility. Additionally, there are a few 1P limitations to be aware of.

Let's dive into specific differences in Profitability and Fees where options may look the same, but have different data included in the back end calculation. To reference these specific calculations while reviewing your Product Catalog, you can always select the title of the section in the Product Catalog to launch the definition slide over at any point.

Profitability Differences

As a 1P Vendor: This section has more data points, but some of the areas have slightly different calculations than a 3P Seller Catalog.

As a 3P Seller: Details on Shipped COGS & Units are not visible; but the other metrics will have different inputs in the backend.

Total Sales

As a 1P vendor, this value is fed from the merchant for Ordered Revenue; but as a 3P seller, this is a calculated value subtracting any promotional discounts from the item price multiplied by the amount sold.

Estimated Gross Profit

As a 1P vendor, this is calculated from your Total Shipped COGS less your Total COGS minus your Ad Spend. 3P sellers will additionally subtract the Estimated Fees.

Units Shipped & Units Sold

1P vendors will see details directly fed from the merchant data; and have 3 different categories: Ordered Units, Shipped COGS and Shipped Units Sold

3P sellers will also see details directly fed from the merchant, but this section will only reflect Shipped Units Sold.

Estimated Gross Margin / Estimated Pre-Ad Gross Margin

1P and 3P catalogs will differ based on data points from the Total Sales, Estimated Gross Profit and Units details above which are leveraged in the calculations:

Fees Differences

1P vendor catalog will reflect Aggregate COGS if Unit COGS are entered (see COGS article) whereas the 3P seller catalog will additionally reflect details on the Merchant fees.
