Understanding Editorial User Roles & Permissions

Learn about different editorial user roles and their permissions on Copilot.

There are three types of editorial Copilot users—Admin, Manager, and Contributor. Each role has a different set of permissions, outlined below:

Contributors: Can create new content and update their own content. Can't curate or publish content. Can't see the unpublished work of other users.

Managers: Can create new content, curate content, and publish content. Can see, edit, and publish the work of others. Can create contributors and other managers.

Admins: Can create new content, curate content, and publish content. Can see, edit, and publish the work of others. Can create managers, contributors, and other admins. Can reset and deactivate accounts for contributors and managers. Can manage tags via Tag Manager.

Creating Copilot users is typically the responsibility of the team's power users (admins). If you aren't sure who your power users are, ask around!
