What is the Copilot <> Getty Video integration?

This means that users can open a story in Copilot, search and view Getty Images from within Copilot, and add them directly to their story.

The existing Copilot <> Getty integration has now been extended to Getty Videos. However, only Getty Videos that are under 20 seconds will be available as part of the integration.

Step One: Inserting Getty Videos in Copilot

Click the + button within the body field of a story, slide field of a gallery, or anywhere else in Copilot where you can place images and Clips.

After clicking the + button, the toolbar will appear. Then click on the 'Asset' button.

On Galleries specifically, you can also click the 'Add Slides' or 'Select Assets' buttons.

Or

Then Copilot's Asset Selector will open.

On the left-hand side, scroll down and click on Getty Videos. Getty Videos will then show on the right hand side.

Step Two: Searching and Selecting a Getty Video

At the top of the page, Getty Videos can be filtered by 1) Video Type and 2) Sort By

Video Type filters:

  • Editorial = Latest news, entertainment and sports coverage videos

  • Creative = Getty's stock videos

Sort By filters:

  • These filters include: Best Match, Most Popular, Newest, Oldest and Random

You can also use the search field to find Getty Videos.

We understand that you may still prefer using gettyimages.com to utilize their search and filtering capabilities. So to save you time, by eliminating the need for downloading images from gettyimages.com to your computer, you can search using the Getty Video URL.

Copy the Getty Video's URL from gettyimages.com.

Enter the URL into the search field in Copilot.

As mentioned above, only Getty Videos that are under 20 seconds will be available as part of the integration.

Also, any audio a Getty Video might have on gettyimages.com won’t come through into Copilot. All Getty Videos via the Copilot integration come without sound.

Step 3: Adding the Getty Videos to your story

Once you have found a Getty Video that you want to add to your story, click on the video and then click the 'Submit' button, located in the bottom right hand corner of the page.

Then the Getty Video will be added to your story.

When a Getty Video is added to a story, it becomes a 'Clip' in Copilot. You can view the Getty Video's Clip page by clicking on the 'View Asset' button.

If you view the Getty Video on the Clip page, you will be able to see the Getty Video's metadata including the Title, Caption and Credit.

IMPORTANT: When you add a Getty Video to your story via the Getty Video integration, the Credit will be automatically added to the video. This will not happen if you download a Getty Video from the Getty website and then upload it to Copilot – the video will not have a Credit.
