Countdown to and showcase a sponsored event

To implement a banner that showcases both the event logo and a sponsor's logo, follow the below steps.

  1. Find and select the correct brand (in either staging or production), in Verso Settings.

  2. Select Event Banner.

*Please note, some fields may already be pre-filled if an event banner was previously set up for the brand you're working with. The following fields are mandatory, so will show up automatically:

  • Banner Expiry Time Stamp

  • Event Time Stamp

  • Locale

  • Logo Base URL

  • Time up message

  • Time Zone

  • Logo

    • Alt Text

  • Logo > Sources > Sm

    • Text

3. Once in the Event Banner capability, click Edit Settings to make the fields configurable.

4. To show a sponsored logo, add the following fields using the Add Settings drop-down. As you add fields, the new fields will be highlighted in orange to signify a change from the last save/ publish.

  • Banner Start Time Stamp

  • Time Format

  • Sponsor Logo

    • Alt Text

  • Sponsor Logo > Sources > Sm

    • URL

5. Fill in all of the appropriate fields:

  • Banner Expiry Time Stamp

    • This determines the date and time when the banner will expire and be automatically removed from the site, based on the GMT zone.

  • Banner Start Time Stamp

    • This determines the date and time when the banner will begin appearing on the site, based on the GMT zone.

  • Event Time Stamp

    • This is the scheduled start time of the event, and the countdown will track towards this moment, using the GMT zone as the reference.

  • Locale

  • Logo Base URL

    • URL for the landing page when the user clicks on the logo on the left side.

  • Time Format

    • Shows the date and time of the event, based on the event location. This field will disappear automatically once the event is live. (For example in the US: [June] D [at] [3PM] [EST])

  • Time up message

    • This is the plain text message that will appear in place of the countdown once the event start time is reached. (Example: Happening Now!)

  • Time Zone

    • Formats the time based on the event's location, using the TZ Identifier.(example for US: US/Eastern)

  • Logo

    • Alt Text

      • This is the plain-text description of the logo.

  • Logo > Sources > Sm

    • URL

      • This is the URL for the image or logo (in PNG or JPG format) generated by uploading as a photo in Copilot. This image or logo is displayed on the left side of the banner.

  • Sponsor Logo

    • Alt Text

      • This is the plain-text description of the sponsor's logo.

  • Sponsor Logo > Sources > Sm

    • URL

      • This is the URL for the sponsor's logo (in PNG or JPG format) generated by uploading as a photo in Copilot. The sponsor's logo is displayed on the right side of the banner, under text that reads "COUNTDOWN PRESENTED BY".

    • Text

      • This is the plain-text message that is shown below the sponsor's logo.

6. Once all fields have been populated, the event banner should resemble the below, configured based on the brand and event's specific needs (this screenshot shows an example from Vanity Fair España):

7. Click Save and then Review & Publish.

The event banner will appear once the designated Banner Start Time is reached.
