If a driver needs to switch to a different vehicle partway through their shift, you can reassign them using the Switch Vehicle button on their assignment. The assignment splits automatically and the driver's remaining trips follow them to the new vehicle.
How to switch a vehicle mid-shift
Navigate to Dispatching → Assignments and locate the driver's current assignment.
From the main navigation, go to Dispatching → Assignments.
Find the driver's current assignment.
Click the Switch Vehicle button on the Vehicle field of the assignment.
Select the replacement vehicle from the list.
Confirm the switch. The assignment splits automatically at the current time and the driver's remaining trips follow them to the new vehicle.
The driver will appear twice on the Assignments screen for that day. This is expected and lets RoutingBox accurately track which vehicle completed which trips.
